Agnostic Front on Tour

Punk fans, get ready. Whether you're new to the scene or a lifelong fan, Agnostic Front are back on tour for 2022 and 2023 and you won't want to miss it. A staple band in the punk scene, Agnostic Front is rocking their extensive legacy with a tour across the globe. The classic rock sound of 1980s New York City is stretching the planet as the Godfathers of Hardcore perform 34 shows in nine countries across Europe and the United States. This tour will be the introduction of drummer Danny Lamagna, who joined the band in 2022. Lamagna carries with him extensive experience with other hardcore, thrash and punk bands such as Suicide City and Sworn Enemy.

Agnostic Front is known to be the pioneers of the crossover thrash genre. Fans rave about the intensity of their concerts, which is said to be consistent throughout the show. Mind-blowing guitar riffs, heavy beats and contagious energy draw the crowd into the experience.

Agnostic Front Live in Concert

Agnostic Front was formed in 1980  and has endured quite a few changes since then. The band currently consists of Roger Miret, Vinnie Stigma, Mike Gallo, Joseph James, and Danny Lamagna. Current lead vocalist Miret is originally from Cuba and arrived in the U.S. early in his life. Miret began his career as a bass player for the band The Psychos. Miret made the move to Agnostic Front after being invited to the roll without ever meeting the band. Stigma simply liked Miret's style of slam dancing and asked if he would like to join the band. Miret was diagnosed with cancer in early 2021 and has since made a full recovery and is in remission.

These days, Agnostic Front continues to encourage that punk and hardcore bands encourage change, but also peace. Band members are known for supporting non-profits like PETA and have been described by fans as some of the nicest people you'll meet on the scene. The concept of change is integral to punk, and Agnostic Front makes sure that the audience knows this as they "are always screaming for change," as Miret has said. Though it's been over 40 years since they first formed, Agnostic Front retain the same energy and passion they brought to the stage early on. Fans remark on the continuing power the band puts behind their sound, even after enduring the trials of time.

    Still incredible!

by Marc in Atlanta on 12/21/23The Masquerade - Hell - Atlanta

These guys are still incredible. I saw them 37 years ago and again this week and they are just as vital today as ever. Vinnie Stigma is a national treasure!

    Spectacular show!

by Vince on 12/21/23The Masquerade - Hell - Atlanta

First off, Purgatory is the perfect venue for recapturing the experience that an old school NYHC show was/is. Second, all 3 bands brought their A game. I was immediately transported back to my teen years. Grade 2 immediately took charge and commanded the crowd, which was smaller at the time, and established the welcoming environment that this type of show is famous for. After their set, Murphy’s Law took the stage and cemented that feeling. Jimmy G brought the crowd into the festivities by letting them, myself included, sing into the microphone. He even went so far as to bring a VERY young fan on stage to sing Cavity Creeps and a made up song about poop! This was genius as it shows that hardcore is for everyone of all ages and creates a feeling of genuine unity and family. Jimmy G is a consummate showman! After Murphy’s law, Agnostic Front took front and center. All the guys were on top of their game and haven’t lost a beat over all their 40+ years of performing. Their individual personalities stood out while also gelling into a tight and cohesive unit. It was like watching a family that was also including YOU in that family. I haven’t had that much fun at a show in a very long time nor have I felt so welcome at a show.

Agnostic Front saved the best for last

by Firedennis on 5/24/22The Masquerade - Hell - Atlanta

Agnostic Front saved the best for last. Atlanta was killer. Roger looked and sounded great for a guy who had 2 operations and beat cancer and a mild heart attack over the last couple of years. His doctors told him he shouldn't tour right now, yet here they are. They say you shouldn't meet your heroes, but you couldn't meet a nicer band despite being from the mean streets of NYC. They're all very nice and easily approachable, like freinds you only see once in a while. I got a set list and Vinny and Roger signed my copy of the Godfathers of Hardcore dvd, an excellent, award winning documentary of the life of Vinny and Roger's friendship and playing Hardcore music for 35 years. This was only my 2nd time seeing them despite being a fan since high school. After 40 years, they truly get better with age.

    Great time!!

by J dawg on 5/24/22The Masquerade - Hell - Atlanta

The only issue was getting to the parking since they were filming a movie right there. Otherwise it was a good time. Clean bathrooms, air conditioning was blowing and just a good happy fun atmosphere. The bands ruled but it wasn’t my first time seeing them. Damn good time and Erin the bartender is now my favorite ever. She has a contagious smile.

The show was amazing! They played the classics, sounded great, and met with fans. Down to earth guys who don’t have an ego. The venue was cool as well. Cheap drinks and there isn’t a bad spot to watch the show. Thanks AF for swinging by!
