There should always be a back up plan in place in case of inclement weather. Waiting under the bleachers for 2+ hours was a disgrace. Only getting to see Dillon perform for 30 mins was a huge disappointment considering I drove from Philadelphia to see him. Awful experience.

Yet again thrival doesn't fail to disappoint. I understand a delay due to rain but the Instagram said they would update us when they would restart. They never did update their instagram and I ended up getting a text from my friends saying Dillon Francis was performing. I quickly got an uber and caught about 15 mins of the show.

    3pm ...on a Friday?

by Nicknamealreadychosen on 9/25/18HIGHMARK STADIUM - PITTSBURGH

So who has a single day music festival & starts it at 4pm on a workday? Thrival Festival does. We got there at like 6:30pm. They were expecting the storm pass over so no music was playing. I get that they can’t play in a storm, but couldn’t there have been some kind of music in the 3hr timeframe we all waited for the storm to pass. Not all acts wound up playing which was fine, again I get we can’t predict the weather, but some kind of recognition or gesture would’ve been nice. Petty complaints, just think they could’ve been better prepared, they were talking about that storm weeks in advance. Also if you’re planning a late afternoon/all evening event... plan it on a weekend

    Brutal event

by PGHJC on 9/24/18HIGHMARK STADIUM - PITTSBURGH

They cut one of the two main acts, shortened the other main act 45 minutes, and the 2 lead in acts were also shortened 25 minutes each. There should be a refund for this brutal show. Unfortunately there was not. Poorly done.

    A pitiful festival

by PickyEclectic on 9/24/18HIGHMARK STADIUM - PITTSBURGH

The Thrival Festival was far from a thriving evening. While they had some issues with weather, that should not be used as an excuse for the poor festival. The people in charge of running the music festival apparently do not know how to run a music festival. Evidence for their incompetence is the low attendance and their handling of the approaching weather. The local performers did well in the short of time they were given for their sets. However the way they abruptly ended the Bastard Bearded Irishmen set was a weak move. Then having Bear Hands, rush through their shorter set was also a poor move. Bear Hands was a disappointingly, mediocre addition to the lineup when they were announced, but there was no need to cut their set time. Cutting off one band during their set and then having another rush through an abbreviated set might have made sense if what followed wasn’t an hour of nothing before the rain fell. All they did in that time was load the equipment for Dillon Francis on to the stage, which made it obvious then that Matt and Kim’s set was going to be cut even before the first raindrop. I got my ticket after Matt and Kim were announced for the event (and long before Dillon Francis was announced as the lousy headliner). Since the act I paid to see wasn’t going to play (and I had no interest in Dillon Francis), I left the pitiful Thrival Festival and went to another show nearby. It was great time there. Maybe in the future the organizers can get a stage that can handle rain during a show. I have been to music festivals where it rained all day and the music still continued as scheduled. A more diverse line up might also help, as there was only one person of color included in the lineup and only one woman who played after Matt and Kim were cut from the show.

It was raining the day of the concert. They didn’t let anyone go out onto the field until about 10 pm. I paid $40 to see multiple artists perform but the only person that we got to see perform was Dillon Francis. The drink prices were also a little expensive in my opinion.

    A mess

by Scrowd on 9/24/18HIGHMARK STADIUM - PITTSBURGH

Terrible experience. They were unorganized and unprepared for the rain. Artists sets got canceled and the main act got cut short. Awful and no compensation was offered.

    Complete waste

by Anonymous on 9/24/18HIGHMARK STADIUM - PITTSBURGH

Definitely was not worth my time or money. It down poured and canceled basically the whole show. They made Dillon Francis play an “abbreviated set” just so Thrival didn’t have to reimburse anyone. Do not even know why suck a big name came to this rinky dink festival. Wasn’t organized, no food vendors were open, tiny venue and VIP paid more to receive the same as general admission.

This festival was poorly organized and struggled to communicate rain delays to patrons
