About

Alone in the dark, with little more than her celluloid memories, Norma Desmond remains what she has always been — the greatest star of all.

This spring, she will reclaim the spotlight once more.

Glenn Close returns to Broadway in the tour de force performance that earned her the Tony Award for Best Actress – and a place in Broadway history – in Sunset Boulevard.

Featuring a 40-piece orchestra, the largest in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award®-winning masterwork of dreams and desire in the land called Hollywood comes to the Palace Theatre for a limited engagement following a sold out run in London’s West End.

“ONE OF THE GREAT STAGE PERFORMANCES OF THIS CENTURY! YOU HAVE TO – AND I MEAN HAVE TO – SEE IT IN PERSON!”  -  Ben Brantley, The New York Times

“WITH ONE LOOK GLENN CLOSE BRINGS DOWN THE HOUSE!   A performance gutsier and more gripping than ever.  IT LEAVES YOU THUNDERSTRUCK.  Your heart somehow sinks and beats faster all at once.” -Peter Marks, The Washington Post

“THE APPLAUSE ECHOES LONG AFTER THE CURTAIN FALLS!” – Entertainment Weekly

    Glenn Close was amazing!

by LG82 on 7/8/17Palace Theatre New York - New York

The show was amazing, Glenn Close was truly the star of the show. The storyline is a little scandalous but it keeps your attention with suspense the whole way through. Costumes were fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

    Sunset Boulevard was riveting!

by Loveplayssomuch on 6/30/17Palace Theatre New York - New York

Glenn Close owns this role. She has the ability to bring out all of your emotions. I wasn't aware that she could sing, and that certainly isn't her strongest point, but it didn't matter because her acting even came through her singing. A powerful play! Another real plus was that the orchestra was right on stage behind the performers!

    Sunset Boulevard was Electric!!!!

by Maggie1928 on 6/29/17Palace Theatre New York - New York

Sunset Boulevard was fabulous! Glenn Close was so brilliant playing the part of Norma Desmond. The entire cast was wonderful and so much fun to watch. I have the CD and had listened to it over and over again even before I watched the Broadway play. It was everything I imagined it would be. I wish it was playing longer as I would go back and see it again! I left the theater with the most vibrant feeling. What a wonderful afternoon in the Palace Theater!

Glenn Close Gives a Powerhouse Performance

by JohnnyB22 on 6/29/17Palace Theatre New York - New York

Glenn Close absolutely stole this show although there were strong performances throughout. From the moment she walked on the stage, she captivated the audience and there were points where the applause and standing ovations delayed the show. She was brilliant! Also, the actor playing Max had a wonderful solo number that left the audience wanting more. I'd highly recommend this show and would love to see it again

    Amazing!

by Jessica1976 on 6/29/17Palace Theatre New York - New York

I saw the show last year in London and was mesmerized! But this time it crowned everything. Although Glenn Close had a little cold and problems with her voice it was captivating, emotional and breathtaking! So glad I came to NY for this show!!

22 years later, As If We Never Said Good Bye

by ShawnShawnShawn on 6/29/17Palace Theatre New York - New York

Glenn Close was phenomenal -- an even better vocalist than she was the first time round, with the bigger, grander set. The 40-piece orchestra as her back up adds a lot to the performance. The rest of the cast was also terrific. Sadly, I can't recommend that you go see this show as we attended the last performance. But she might be back

    Webber does it Again

by NowForeverNYC on 6/28/17Palace Theatre New York - New York

Once again the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber carries the story forward. His compositions and the power of his music elicits emotions in the audience as no other composer has done previously. Glenn Close outdid herself.
