About

Goodbye Grey Skies, Hello Blue!

Happy days are here again with Richie, Potsie, Ralph Malph and the unforgettable "king of cool" Arthur "The Fonz" Fonzarelli. Based on the hit Paramount Pictures' television series, HAPPY DAYS - A New Musical reintroduces one of America's best-loved families, the Cunninghams, and the days of 1959 Milwaukee complete with varsity sweaters, hula hoops and jukebox sock-hoppin'.

The famed drive-in malt shop and number one hang-out, Arnold's, is in danger of demolition, so the gang teams up to save it with a dance contest and tv-worthy wrestling match. This perfectly family friendly musical will have you rockin' and rollin' all week long!

HAPPY DAYS - A New Musical has a book by the legendary Garry Marshall. Music and Lyrics by Oscar-winning composer Paul Williams. Directed by Gordon Greenberg. Music Arrangements and Music Supervision by John McDaniel. Choreographed by Michele Lynch.

    Not to Happy

by Coach71 on 5/31/11Toby's Dinner Theatre Columbia - Columbia

My wife and Itook a chance on this one, and it did not pay off. Although the cast and crew work very hard, and are talented, unless you are a big fan of the television series (which we were not) the play never really captures you. The food was fine. The normal dinner theater fare. Toby's does a fine job with the atmosphere. We will return to Toby's for future features, but for our 18th wedding anniversary the play was not a part of our Happy Day!!

    Enjoyable evening

by Slinky33 on 5/23/11Toby's Dinner Theater - Columbia

My husband and I went to see Happy Days to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. The food was good. We shared a table with Gary and Linda, a couple we never met before, but they were very friendly and pleasant. We were seated at a back table on the side closest the the middle stage. We could see and hear very well. Wonderful music and dancing. Cute and fun! "Pinky" had a beautiful singing voice...good enough to sing the lead in a Disney musical cartoon. The dancing was incredible...fast paced. Wonderful evening!!

Just like the TV show with good food!

by tpt1 on 5/23/11Toby's Dinner Theatre Columbia - Columbia

The buffet was good, fresh food and excellent service by the actors and staff. Then, the show was high paced and perfectly campy, like the old show including references to old episodes. Don't look for a "Grease" type production, this is TV recreated at it's best. If you enjoyed the old TV show, you'll certainly enjoy the play! Music was great and a lot of dialougue. A must do!!

Too bad - was looking forward to it

by SNBuddy on 11/11/10Fred Kavli Theatre-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

I was very much looking forward to this event. Alas, it was slow and the music was not indicative of the time (what happened to the ROCK AND ROLL?!?!?!?) The dancing was good, the acting was fair. But, overall because we reallly expected to hear the music of the era ... it missed on most levels.

Happy Days title brought me in

by Gleanne on 11/1/10Fred Kavli Theatre-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

The worst performance I have seen at the Thousand Oaks theater. We left at the intermission. The theater was more than half empty so others must feel the same way. Many people left with us. Too bad, other performances have been great.

    Great lift!

by happytoseeit on 11/1/10Fred Kavli Theatre-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

Happy Days gives your heart a lift and takes you back to a simpler time. One can't help but walk out of the theatre with a smile on your face and a skip in your step. We have been talking about it for days.

Boring stereotypes strutting around in a weak musical with a mediocre, and sometimes, bad score. The plot was stupid--nothing to really care about. If you are going to do a dumb 50's musical, do "Grease"--at least the music is strong in that old chestnut. A very disappointed and un"happy" theater-patron. Also, the line at the box office to pick up "will call" seats was long and very SLOW. I will not be back soon!

    Excellent Cast!

by ChuckNiedbalski on 10/28/10Cabrillo Music Theatre - Thousand Oaks

I totally enjoyed this show. Have seen it twice so far. Opening night was thrilling with all the celebrity guests in the audience. I plan to return to see the closing performance.
