    Pass this one up!

by Muffinstein on 2/28/12Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

Slap stick comedy at it's worst. It was not funny and for a play that was to be based on Hitchcock there was definitely no intrigue or plot. Do not spend your money on this one.

The actors were just terrific. Each one played ALL of their parts to perfection. I laughed throughout the entire program.

    Amazing experience!

by HoneywOrms on 2/27/12Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

First time at the Herberger and 39 Steps was a perfect performance for the maiden voyage. Beautiful venue! The cast was amazing as they switched between character roles. We were mesmerized the whole time!

The 39 Steps Hereberger Theatre Phoenix

by Echodog on 2/27/12Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

Loved it,lovedit, loved it! It was part mystery, part musical, part vaudville and because of the numerous quick changes and antics/acrobatics of the actors part Cirque de Sole!! The most fun I've had in live theatre for a long time. The cast was so talented, professional and funny! Would see it again if it weren't completeing its run. But find out were it goes next and GO THERE!

    Amazing Theater!

by Gremio on 2/27/12Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

Just saw 39 steps at the Herberger Theater Center courtesy of Arizona Theater Company AND the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis (main cast members)...Amazing, creative, inventive, everything theater is about and movies are not! See Warhorse in the live theater and then the movies (39 steps or Warhorse) and you can understand that in these cases the films are weak sisters to the plays performed in the theater...Watching the intricate "handcuff" in 39 steps the play, I am reminded of Chaplin and the his revolving door (the Drunkard?) scene and the boxing bit in another short...the 130 roles done by two actors was a GREAT PLEASURE, as were the leads! Bravo for comedy!

    Not funny!

by AZ06 on 2/27/12Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

I had high hopes for 39 Steps but it turned out to be nothing but two hours of Abbot and Costello slapstick humor. Not our style.

    39 Steps

by Bornato on 2/25/12Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix

Acting was very good. The pace of the play slowed down in the second half and it lost its energy. Had trouble hearing. I think for a play like 39 Steps, the actors should be miked. The voices themselves carried, but it was hard to understand what they were saying during parts of the play.

I haven't laughed that much in a long time and it was great hearing others in the audience enjoy it too. The actors are incredibly talented! Go see it while you can!
