My friend and i had a great time. We drove down fron Des Moines, Iowa, that morning to see the games. We enjoyed them very much. The stadium is very nice and we will definitlely go back again.It was a nice day to spend watching soccer. I did think that the concession prices were a little high though.
The turnout for a Men's National Team event (albeit U23) was terrible. I think the attendance was under 3800. When I purchased tickets for the presale, the corner section was the first I could obtain. I assumed a solid turnout and was looking forward to a great environment. Then I arrived to find thousands of empty seats in prime viewing areas. I can only assume that Sporting KC season ticket holders were given their seats for this event and that everyone else had to backfill whatever remained. This is great if the match would have actually been marketed to fill some of the seats. The match itself was great and we had a good time, but that is not the venue that a US National team deserves. Someone in marketing needs to be held accountable.
Games were emotional like any other soccer game. It was great when my team scored the winning goal in the last 10 minutes of the game. Crowd was rowdy as usual but there weren't many disturbances. Seats were amazing, only four rows from the field, and the 2 games for 1 price was well worth it. The Home Depot Center is always a great venue, parking is easy and staff is very helpful.
The game was great. However, our seats were non-existent (r/t the fact that the camera crew had taken over our handicap seats.) Parking and tailgating not conducive to handicap persons.
It was an outstanding event. We really had a good time. The fans were great. Wished they had more vendors and give aways like the Sporting KC matches.
Loved the event at home depot center. It's always very clean and the employees are very kind and helpful. I would deffintely go to the same event again.
Anywhere Mexico presents to play, they get the crowd going!
Great atmosphere!! Good teams. Only complaint is that the "fan assistance crew" were in the way of us seeing one of the goals. I understand they have a job to do, but I feel they could have been sitting instead of standing.
I had an amazing time at the soccer game on Monday. Im hopping that events like this one come more often to Kansas city. Now that we have a great stadium things can be possible. Kansas city really needs this kind of events, The stadium its first class. The event was very organized. I took my family to the game and the have a blast!!
The event was a lot of fun and bing among so many from the competing countries was cool. Was fun to be part of this rare event in KC. Only issue was our seats or lack there of. Our tickets were for section 114 - row 1. however when we arrived (on time) were told it was first come first served for this section and there were absolutely no seats available at all - just standing room. For entire first game had to stand. Second game - went to another section and sat in some empty seats. Was very disappointed due to the price we paid for that premium section.
