by Ventura0920 on 5/19/14Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand OaksPlease remember that the performers are high school girls and boys. Having said that, their performance was better than many professional performances that I have attended. I have lived all over the Northern Hemisphere in the USA, Europe and Asia. I have attended professional musicals in the USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Belgium, Iceland, Japan and Egypt. These kids just absolutely performed beyond their years. Their voices were strong, inspiring, and their range and ability to hit key notes belied their young ages. When things did not go exactly according to plan, they improvised and adapted and kept right on performing; never missing a step, note, or beat. This was an amazing performance. The performers acted and sang as if they were seasoned professionals. I highly recommend this show.

by TheFlyingQ on 5/18/14Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand OaksThis group of young people pull off an amazing production of Shrek. Shrek is a wonderful and touching story for the whole family about making your wishes come true, but not necessarily how you dreamed them. All the songs are sung wonderfully by the actors on stage supported by a live 6 piece band which really makes the show special. Watch for the special performances by Fiona when she sings "I have always been a morning person", and the touching "When words fail" by Shrek. Your sides will ache from laughing at Lord Farquad in "Things are looking up here in Duloc" and at Donkey in "Make your Move. My favorite in the show was "I got you beat" with Fiona and Shrek.
