    Great event!

by Chiguy66 on 7/19/12U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

The Closing Ceremonies of the 2012 World Choir Games were amazing! The energy in the arena was off the charts! If I have one complaint it's that the sound quality just wasn't that good. The officials who spoke could barely be heard (at least where we were sitting). I love the Cincinnati Pops but the microphones seemed to mainly pick up the instruments and not the singers positioned sometimes behind them (the May Festival Chorus) or the singers in front of them. Good grief, at one point even Idina Menzel was being overpowered, and that's hard to do. One of the opera numbers from La Traviata was amazing. The singers were powerful and fantastic and easily heard. Then the next pair of opera singers once again could barely be heard. Very frustrating. Otherwise, an incredible event. I know US Bank Arena is just that, an arena, and not a concert hall, but this was substandard audio.

    Fantastic evening

by Anonymous on 7/17/12U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

The parade of flags was moving. A little sad after a fantastic week and half of competitions - I hated to see it end. The Pops and all participating singer and choirs were fantastic. It was great to have a trip around the world with music. Audience participation with "Happy Day" and "We are the World" makes you feel like maybe there is hope for this old world.

Sound system awful / Why no choir participation?

by NihonRay on 7/17/12U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

Show was very nice, but anyone speaking from the microphone in the center of the arena was inaudible to those in the upper sections. Unfortunately, most of the presentations were made from this microphone. Other mics, even those used by the interpreter standing next to the presenter, were far superior. Show should have included more participation from the winning choirs instead of only the Cincinnati Pops, May Festival Chorus, and 2 singing stars. I came to hear the choirs as this was supposed to be the World CHOIR Games. Although I'm sure it would have taken longer, I would have preferred to see the choirs in attendance walk in behind the signs from their countries like in the Olympics. Luckily I attended the parade and saw this during the week, but this was disappointing

    Closing Ceremony was beautiful

by 7178 on 7/17/12U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

We LOVED the closing ceremony. We were in Europe during the games and came home to such a surprise with this event. The whole evening couldn't have been nicer. We hated to see it end.

    Sound System Stymied

by Semah on 7/17/12U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

Visually, it was very good. But the sound was terrible. Garbled and echoes, too. I couldn't tell what the speakers were saying or the singers were singing. What a shame.

    Fabulous

by Abacos1 on 7/17/12U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

The city of Cincinnati has made us very, very proud. The World Choir Games has been a fabulous event for our community. We believe that bridges have been built among nations by this event. Thank you to everyone who made it such a powerful two weeks--even extending it a few days longer for the Indonesian choir.

    An All-Star Evening

by CincinnatiRedRabbit on 7/17/12U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

As with the Opening Ceremony, I found myself wishing there were less than an hour of pomp and circumstance, but when the concert portion began it was well worth all the speeches (...and they actually played "Pomp and Circumstance"!). The Cincinnati Pops, May Festival Chorus, community choirs, Idina Menzel, Cincinnati Opera performers, One in Song Choir... they were all phenomenal, and there were other stellar performers I've not even listed. What an all-star evening.

World Choir Games Closing Ceremonies - Awesome!!!

by Bishop14 on 7/17/12U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati

I'm so glad I decided to attend this. It was awesome!!! Very well organized, emotional, patriotic and heartfelt. Idina Menzel was fantastic......but so was all the other talent. When you see a crowd of spectators join in to a celebration of any kind....you know that you've reached their heart and soul. Thank you to the city of Cincinnati, the Convention and Visitors Burea of Cincinnati, to all the participants and organizers of the World Choir Games.........I was proud to be a part of this experience!
