I have seen Wish You Were Here many times over the years- I go at least once a year. They were my favorite PF cover band for sure. I’m hoping they can be again, but based on this show, I’m not sure.
This was the worst show I’ve ever seen by them. A waste of $52.00, gas, and my entire evening. I ended up leaving before the show was even over. I don’t think I’ve ever done that for any show/concert before.
Many issues: the song order choice was terrible. The first set was so boring. 1/2 way through the 2nd, I couldn’t take any more.
Nothing during the show was like the band I first saw years ago. Nothing flowed well, the stage prompts were randomly just hanging around, and it seemed like nothing was planned- just went out and played some PF songs- mostly instrumental.
The shows I recall had organized themes, such as the scene in The Wall where he’s talking on the phone and songs from that album were played with prompts accompanying the theme. Same with Pigs and Dark Side of the Moon, etc.
This show was like a mish-mash of random songs with way too much instrumental. Obviously, I know PF has a lot of instrumental incorporated into their music, but it was as if one of the singers couldn’t sing. Maybe he wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t?? I don’t know, but this left only one singer, rather than the singing split up between the two male singers in the band. (Totally missed the “Roger Waters” and “David Gilmour” alternating songs in the show).
I hope this show isn’t what the future shows will be like. If so, I’ll miss seeing them regularly and will have lost what was my favorite Pink Floyd cover band.
