Great show, had a lot of fun. It was just like old times! Can't wait until the next show.
All I know is my girls and I sweated out our perms! It reminded me partying at the Ibex!
The venue was beautiful and the performance was just as I expected it to be, off the hook! The band NEVER disappoints me.
The band was awesome, Dwele was great...I just thought it ended kinda fast, started at 8, was over at like 10:15. Then when I got there, they said it was standing room only, so if that was the case, I didn't need to buy the expensive tickets!! The theatre is beautiful, but I was disappointed in the change of seat plans.
Although, I love the contiuation of Chuck Brown's Legacy. I felt this weekend's performance lacked the energy that is usually the essence of their performance. Of course, D. Floyd and Cherie are true performers and never fail to deliver. And I love the addition of Chuck's son, he is definitely coming into his own. But I've seen this band perform and this weekend's performance was disappointing. Their popularity is greatly due to the success of Chuck Brown and what he meant to the city. Thus, it is imperative that they evoke and continue his legacy in their performance. Chuck has set a benchmark for all bands to meet and/or surpass. Don't discredit him by continuing to use his name merely to generate sales. The city honors Chuck when they continue to support the band, and the band should honor him by giving a 100% with every performance.
I had a great time. The band was AMAZING. Although it wasn't packed I still had a lot of fun. Drinks were strong and the 20 piece wings were really good.
Chuck Brown Go Go Music is great dancing music. The best sounds were when the Brown Band and Be'la Dona played together. I recommend they play together more often. It was magic.
The show was great I can't wait for the next event. Please keep me post when the next show will be.
Be'la Dona was great. The sound and presentation was on point. CB's. band . what can I say the sound was still there but the stage performance was lacking. KK was chewing gum like it was crack and you could tell that rehearsal time must have been a joke. The highlight of the evening was hearing CB's son who has a voice very similar to his fathers
Amazing! The Chuck Brown band and Mint Condition were absolutely wonderful. The freedom that Howard Theater gives you to move from your seat is simply great! Would definitely attend another event at the Howard Theater worth the price!
