WICKED is a Tony-winning sensation that has been defying gravity and delighting Broadway audiences since 2003. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, the fantastical prequel to The Wizard of Oz was nominated for 10 Tony Awards after it opened at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City, and won three, including Best Actress for Idina Menzel, who played the original Elphaba. The musical’s first national tour opened in 2005 and ever since, WICKED’s touring production has criss-crossed North America offering theatergoers one short day in the Emerald City filled with magic, music and the ”untold true story of the Witches of Oz.” The second national tour — known as the “Munchkinland Tour” — has been an open-ended production since 2009 and now stars Olivia Valli as Elphaba and Celia Hottenstein as Glinda.

Everything about this evening was wonderful! The Orpheum is a great venue and Wicked was fantastic! I am amazed by the talent of the actors! The play is well written and thought provoking - tie ins to the Wizard of Oz - we talked about it all the way home!! What an amazing experience!!
loved it - after hearing about wicked for years and years, I finally caught the vision on why it's everyone's favorite. Well done.
Wicked was fantastic. The talent that starred was phenomenal.
Thoroughly enjoyed Wicked! The cast was superb, set design incredible and the music was wonderful. Highly recommend this!
I haven't been to many musicals, but I loved Wicked. The performers were awesome as well as the stage design. Would go again
Simply the best play I’ve seen. It will totally change your perspective on the wizard of oz.
I’ve seen wicked on broadway and now twice at the orpheum. Both orpheum shoes were better than broadway. This cast was so talented. I loved the production choices as well. The set design was so immersive. I think my favorite part was the end of defying gravity. I loved what they did with the solid black drapery and having elphaba lit the way she was.
The musical numbers were glorious. The spoken words were often muffled to the point of not understanding them at all. Everyone in our group agreed.
I love this show and have seen it 5 times. 4 times were at the orpheum and 1 time was at the Gershwin Theater in New York. While I do believe the actresses that played Glenda and Elphoba were talented, I do not believe they were the best performers for the roles. Their version of the music was a little more like opera and harder to understand. I have taken new people each time I have seen Wicked and the people I took this time weren’t very thrilled nor entranced like others that I have taken have been.
