As always they were well done. Congratulations to all nominees and winners. The Birchmere is perfect for this event. Your staff was wonderful and very attentive. A big thank you for limiting the number of people on one ticket.

    WATCH Awards

by Emeraldquean on 3/19/13Birchmere - Alexandria

Although the event was basically well run, the master of ceremonies was doing a mean comedy bit and therefore the tone of the event was not as celebratory as in past events. If he is that angry at being there, then WATCH needs to get a new mc. Other than that it was fine. The service and food were good.

Watch Awards was lots of fun!

by Bartoonist on 3/19/13Birchmere - Alexandria

I came with the Laurel Mill Theater group and even though I'm not one of the actors, enjoyed myself to no end. The 'ring presentation' was a wonderful surprise. Won't forget that for a long time! My involvement with the theater is limited to some art work and an occasional set change but it's still fun to help out. Thanks for the opportunity to attend.

    WATCH awards

I loved the high spirits of the event, and how the recipients reacted to their prizes. it was theater. The wait staff were most generous and helpful. the food seemed delicious, although I did not order any. My suggstion for improvement would be to include the address of the Birchmere in the web site. I do not have a car, and I had to guess about how to arrive by pubic transportation. I had never been there. The bus driver never heard of the Birchmere. When I left the bus in the general vicinity of the place, most people I asked for directions never heard of it. It was suposed to be at the meeting, I was told, of Mt. Vernon Avenue, Russell street, and West Glebe Road--surely a confusing goal. I was lucky to meet a kind elderly man who walked me near the place. At night, in the rain, this was hard to find.
