War Horse exceeded expectations!
Cadillac Palace - Chicago
Honestly, had no idea what to expect. The story was great and the puppeteering was out of this world. Definitely one of a kind experience, kept us on edge of seat for entire time. So much to watch at all times, the subtlety of the horse movements was fantastic!

Good play but not my type of story
Cadillac Palace - Chicago
I took my 13 yr old son to this play because he liked the movie and he likes things about war. I on the other hand don't particularly like these kinds of stories. But I can appreciate the set designs as they were outstanding!! At times you couldn't tell the horses were being maneuvered by people. We sat in the balcony and at times we couldn't hear the dialogue, but we were able to see the stage with no problem.
A remarkable tale of courage, loyalty and friendship.
England, 1914. As World War One begins, Joey, young Albert's beloved horse, is sold to the cavalry and shipped from England to France. He's soon caught up in enemy fire, and fate takes him on an extraordinary journey, serving on both sides before finding himself alone in no man's land. But Albert cannot forget Joey and, still not old enough to enlist, he embarks on a treacherous mission to find him and bring him home.
This powerfully moving and imaginative drama, filled with stirring music and songs, is a show of phenomenal inventiveness that is currently playing to packed houses in London, New York and Toronto. At its heart are astonishing life-sized puppets created by South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company, that bring to life breathing, galloping, charging horses strong enough for men to ride.
