    Great Experience!

by Smithereens5678 on 2/9/16Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

First time to the Walnut Street Theatre and wow! We were blown away by the theatre, the history, and yes the awesome performances in Zombie in Love. It's a favorite book and we had to see this play and it was something that we will never forget. I can't say enough about all the actors, amazing work and such passion. The set was wonderful and my little one loved how it all came together and came apart to show a different scene. The only question, where was Mortimer's dog?

My granddaughter enjoyed the show, she's 8. Good for discussion following the show about how we treat others who are different.

Zombie in Love - Quality Performance

by SingleFatherofFour on 2/9/16Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

I took my four kids to this show, ages 6, 8, 10 and 11. The show was great for my two younger children and pretty good for my 10 y/o. My 11 y/o is getting a bit old for this type of performance and she was particularly turned off by the blue worm puppets that were part of the show. While these might be a good draw for the really young kids (2 - 4), they don't work really well for any of the ages of my kids. The actors in the black robes and hoods might have served just as well for ages 5 and up. Overall the performance was very good, and the actor who plays the lead, Mortimer, was simply awesome. I thought all of the actors were good, but the lead in this show was incredibly talented and clearly stood out. I would recommend this show for 10 and under, but (with the puppets) it is to young for pre-teens and teens - so for age 11 and up look for something a little more mature.
