    It was cute

This historic theatre is amazing. Grease was good, not worth the price of the tickets, but entertaining. I would go to the theatre again - probably not to see Grease but maybe something else.

So this was my second experience at the Walnut. Our first show The Music Man was awesome, so we were very excited to come back for Grease. This one was not very good. Sandy's voice was harsh to listen to, some of the supporting cast did very well, but were goofy with their singing (on purpose... we hope so). Now about the songs, the order was a little weird, but most of the songs they sung were in the movie even if it was just back ground. I was happy that we were able to move up to closer seats because the theater was pretty empty.

Good show, but not a must see.

by Briareos on 7/23/13Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

Overall great voices all around. The two leads lacked character and were cookie cutter singers for the part. The real treat was the effort by the supporting cast. Also disappointed with the changes to songs and their locations compared to the iconic movie. Some of the best songs were thrown in as an afterthought at the end.

We have been to this theatre in the past and have seen some really entertaining shows but this time we (a group of 4) were very disappointed. We all found it to be very high schoolish. The props were cheaply done and added nothing to the performance. Looking around I actually saw people nodding off and sleeping.

The show was great and the actors were incredibly talented! Although the show is no longer in Philly, I would see it again if it comes back!

    Grease Was Well Executed

by JoiseySonny on 7/22/13Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

The cast of this production were very talented performers and the staging was nicely done. The play was just long enough and much of the music was very familiar.
