About

ELF is the charming tale of Buddy, a young orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. Buddy is raised unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, he embarks on a journey to New York City with dreams to find his birth father and discover his true identity. What's an adopted elf to do when he realizes his father is on Santa's 'naughty' list and his half-brother doesn't believe that there is a Santa Claus? It's up to Buddy to save Christmas! Find your inner ELF as the writers of Annie and The Wedding Singer adapt the hit film into the unforgettable gift of a Broadway musical for the holiday season!

    Elf Was Simply Spectacular!

by AHHMANDAH on 1/14/14Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

I loved everything about Elf. This was my first time to Walnut Street Theater and it was a very happy one at that! Granted, Christmas is my favorite time of year. So it was no surpise that I was excited about the pretty white lights, greenery and fabulous decor of the theater. It was adorable. I was excited before even walking inside. Luckily, the theater didn't make everyone stand outside like most New York City theaters do before the show. The weather was awful so this would have been a real bummer. They let everyone in to stand and walk around, purchase food, drinks and/or little trinkets. Once the doors opened, everyone began to pile into their seats. I was very pleased with our seats. We were second row on the left side. There definitely didn't appear to be a lousy seat in the place, but I was happy with where we were. I was a bit nervous with our angle...but it ended up being perfect and I had no problem with the view. Everything was right up close and personal. :o) The show itself was amazing. The cast was simply wonderful. I loved all the music and the dancing and thought it was actually really funny. I think whoever played Santa was GREAT. He was so lively and I kind of wanted to hang out with him after the show... I seriously loved everything from beginning to end and that won't be my last time at this theater!

    Elf was decent

by Swagner179 on 1/5/14Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

Elf The musical was good, not great. A lot of the comedy was very forced. I feel as though the actors did not fully commit to their characters. Especially buddy the elf. I felt he was acting more as an annoyance than a human that grew up as an elf. The musical was very colorful and pleasing and fun. There was a surprising amount of tap numbers which was fun. Overall the musical was a good time, but nothing that blew my mind. I would have rather just watched the movie, I did not get that "holiday spirit" feeling from the show.

    Elf - the Musical

by chcalumna on 1/4/14Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

Play was fantastic - lively and upbeat. The actor who portrayed Elf made it his own but captured and included some of Will Farrell's traits. Great show for all ages. This was a gift to the family - a great day to spend with each other. Followed up with dinnner!!!

Show was a great adaptation of the movie, although, it wasn't necessary to have seen the movie to understand the show. Actors were energetic and funny. Thanks for the fun evening.

It was a very fun experience. The show, seats, and theater were all excellent. There's a lot of nice places to eat nearby and parking was easy as well.
