About

Alexander is having a really, really bad day. He wakes up with gum in his hair, his best friend abandons him on the playground and his mom forgets to put dessert in his lunch box. Might as well pack up and move to Australia! This totally awesome musical is sure to tickle your funny bone as it helps kids understand that some days are just like that.

What a great play to take my son to see on stage!! The play followed the story very well. The actors were so good. The play was the perfect length of time. I will always encourage my family and friends to support the Walnut Street Theatre.

    Alexander was lively and entertaining!!

by Travel59 on 2/5/13Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

Alexander was a play suited for children. It allowed them to see that sometimes things are not always going to be perfect. However when you have your family's love you can get through . There is always a bright side and you can start over the next day. I took my granddaughter and my nieces. They are all 10 years old. They enjoyed the play tremendously. It was just long enough to hold their attention.

    Very entertaining

by GymNutz on 2/5/13Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

My kids range in ages from 3 1/2 to 7 1/2 and they all loved the show. The set was cute and the scenes were clever. It really brought the book to life. My kids lived the show store scene and the scene at the father's office. The only criticism I would give is that I thought the actor who played Alexander wasn't as strong as the rest of the cast.

Took my grandson to his first play ever. He really liked it; so much that he wants to go to another play with me. The whole play was great and even if you'd never read the book, you would have enjoyed it tremendously. Catchy songs and really clever all around. We'll always think about ice cream with whipped cream and a cherry as a vegetable from now on! We loved it!
