Artist was fantastic...not the production details

by Kisboros on 12/9/14Plaza Del Sol Performance Hall - CSUN - Northridge

It was a weird combination of a world-class artist in an amateur setting. The sound mixing was really bad. The sound of the lead/rhythm guitar player was a whisper. In the second half, Marton could hardly be heard and the drummer ruled the sound. When Marton walked off stage to play among the audience, the spotlight was chasing him...a little bit in front, a little bit behind...ooops, we finally managed to spot him with the light. I was actually really upset because not everyday can you get an artist like him and then the experience is kind of ruined.

can't decide between pop, rock or classical?

by thiscantbegood on 12/9/14Plaza Del Sol Performance Hall - CSUN - Northridge

Why not blend all the genres and create the unique sound of Edvin Marton. This concert is not your average "sit back and take a snooze" violin concerto. There's clapping a-plenty throughout, so bring your hand cream. Between songs, Marton's charm comes through as he tells stories about his personal experience with the violin. Add to that his three-piece all-girl rock band, a prima ballerina that makes an appearance or two, a gigantic screen showing videos of Marton playing his violin and you've got your fix. And if you enjoy hearing a $7 million violin, you're going to love this concert as much as Marton loves the applause. Did I mention his ego doesn't fit inside the theatre?
