    Wonderful Performance!

by jmatheson on 5/11/12Myles Reif Performing Arts Center - Grand Rapids

I loved this performance! It was an amazing clash of silent film, and rock. The costumes were beautiful. I dont know about the rest of you but before I buy tickets to something I check it out to find out exactly what I am buying into... The first line on the Vox Lumiere website is :Vox Lumiere is rock concert meets silent film. Would for sure go see either this production, or one of their others again!!

    HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE

by Artistcin on 11/29/11Not sure - Joliet

I want my money back!!!! If I wanted to watch an silent film with someone screeching in the background over it, I could done that on my own. Cat's in heat sounded better that this " ???" (i don't know what to call it ?) Play?, standing on stage? I would recommend they return the money to anyone who attend this event and appoligize in hopes of having anyone ever attend an event at the rialto theatre again.

Vox Lumiere Phantom of the Opera is awful

by Aprilsunshine on 11/10/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

Overpriced - I want a refund! It was terrible and so low budget. Singing to a silent movie with no costume changes, no props - how did this get at the Rialto? Do they even audition their acts?

    Vox Lumiere What Was That???

by EmilyThorne on 11/10/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

I was not expecting an avant-garde version of Phantom Of The Opera. Needless to say I was not happy with what I spent my money to see. We could not understand anything they were singing. Was it in English? The costumes looked like they were designed by Madonna and Boy George. We left at intermission as did several others. I could not apologize enough to my husband for wasting a Saturday evening.

vox lumiere was a High School musical!!!!

by memo1214 on 11/8/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

the worst play i have seen and heard. not even worth the 35 $ cheap seats!!! stay home and watch the original silent movie and let a high school rock band play and sing in the background, thats about what you will get from this play. the only good thing was the main characters voices. they can sing... but cant understand and cant hear with the LOUD music playing!!!

Vox Lumiere; Phantom of the Opera, rocked!!

by Renton65 on 11/8/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

I viewed the "Vox Lumiere: Phantom of the Opera," at the Rialto Theatre in Joliet, IL. Overall, the show was quite spectacular; and, genuinely fabulous! I must admit, at first, I wasn't quite sure what to expect (being a huge fan of the musical, "Phantom of the Opera"); but, after the first 6 or 7 minutes of initial shock that had set in (the element of unexpectedness), I became quite mesmerized and fascinated with the music, choreography, and the overall showing of the Vox Lumiere! EXCELLENT JOB TO THE CAST AND CREW; KUDOS AND TOTES!!

    Disappointed!!

by Anonymous on 11/8/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

Would not pay to see this again, would not attend if I was given free tickets. Not true to the play or the original music. Some people walked out before intermission we stayed but we were very diappointed.

    Vox Lumiere was disappointing.

by TPOTO on 11/8/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

After seeing The Phantom of the Opera in LasVegas, Vox Lumiere was disappointing. I didn't know what to expect. How could I have expected a Silent Movie combined with Opera, Rap and Heavy Metal Music? I do have to say the performers danced and sang masterfully if that is what you are into.

    Hard to watch both

by Dottie1960 on 11/7/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

This was an odd combination of things going on. If you wanted to follow the story you needed to watch the silent movie but then you couldn't really pay attention to the dancers. Also, the music was just way too loud (and I like loud music!)

    Horrible!!!!!!

by JAnonymous2 on 11/7/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

Extremely disappointed!! Couldn't hear vocalists because of 2 man rock band. Elderly people were very disturbed by the "forced" feedback. Watched a 1920's silent movie while they sang to lyrics which we did not recognize. Left during intermission with others in the audience! My daughter was horribly disappointed!! Despicable Rendition!!!!!
