About

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Vince Gill has become one of the most celebrated country artists of all-time, selling over 24 million albums throughout his career and winning 20 Grammy Awards, more than any other male country artist in history. In 2013, he played for ticket holders in concert across North America and the U.K. and is scheduled to tour with George Strait in 2014. Born in 1957 in Oklahoma, he learned how to play several instruments including banjo and guitar as a child and played in a bluegrass band in high school. He joined the country band Pure Prairie League in the late 1970s before leaving the group in 1982 to pursue his solo career. He put out four solo albums in the 1980s, including 1984’s Turn Me Loose and 1989’s When I Call Your Name, before releasing the double platinum 1991 album Pocket Full of Gold. His next album, 1992’s I Still Believe in You, reached No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and sold over three million copies with hit singles “What the Cowgirls Do” and “Whenever You Come Around.” Gill’s 1993 Christmas album Let There Be Peace on Earth also went platinum, and 1994’s When Love Finds You peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard chart, his most successful album selling over four million copies. More commercial and critical success followed with 1996’s High Lonesome Sound and 1998’s The Key, and his next five solo albums reached the country top five, including 2000’s Let's Make Sure We Kiss Goodbye and 2006’s These Days. The Country Music Association has bestowed Gill with a total of 18 CMA Awards including two Entertainer of the Year awards and five Male Vocalist Awards, and in 2007, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Vince Gill and his band were great - the venue needs to be painted - they also need to change the name of that venue since many people think its in cherokee NC not asheville

Love Vince and his many talents as an outstanding musician .

by Vince fan on 8/30/22Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville - Asheville

The sound system was so poorly set for the size of the venue it distorted his voice and the music making it impossible to understand the lyrics if you didn’t know them. He has the most amazing voice and it is very disappointing that we were unable to enjoy that in person. He was funny, entertaining and provided a great selection of his best songs. Too bad the sound was so distorted.

Great concert!! Vince performed the entire time!!

by Terri M on 8/29/22Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville - Asheville

The VIP parking was great. My sister has issues walking long distances, so parking in the venue was perfect. Vince was a fabulous performer. He either sang or played then entire time. This concert was well worth the cost of the tickets.

A fantastic concert! Vince Gill’s voice is golden at 65 years of age. He played for over 3 hours so he really gave everyone their money’s worth. Love him and will go see him again. I hope he comes back to Asheville.

    Self centered audience

by GFC on 8/29/22Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville - Asheville

Vince Gill and his band were amazing! The 4 star rating is because of the venue and audience. Harrah's Cherokee Center needs an update. The seat cushions are broken down and the sound system is not clear most likely due to speaker exhaustion. Finally, (perhaps because ticketmaster requires patrons to use digital tickets), the audience seemed to think this was a photo shoot. There were at all times so many phones taking pictures/video that it was distracting from the show. The woman in front of me must have filmed 6-8 songs in their entirety. Meanwhile I tried to watch Vince while having that light shine directly in my eyes. It is unlikely I will choose to go to another concert at this venue.
