Vetiver was so-so but Tune Yards was AMAZING

by Anonymous on 8/20/11Rickshaw Stop - San Francisco

It was worth it just to discover Tune Yards. Lead singer has an unbelievable Mirriam Makeba caliber voice, great funky hooks, almost Laurie Anderson art performance feel to her style. She loops back her own voice to create 3 part harmony right there on stage.

by teatree1421 on 8/16/11Rickshaw Stop - San Francisco

this was a late concert, starting at 10, Vetiver didn't get on til midnight, but EVERYONE rocked! It was sold out, Extra Classy and tUnE-YarDs were incredible. I danced from 10-1am.

    New set/album from Vetiver

by Sofboy on 8/15/11Rickshaw Stop - San Francisco

This was my 6th time seeing this band and I highly recommend checking them out. They just released a new album (The Errant Charm) which is another great effort. Fog Emotion, Right Away, Wonder Why and Ride, Ride, Ride are all classic Vetiver songs which made their way into the set. Outside of some 'white hats' yelling Skynyrd-esque requests, the show was solid!

Vetiver - better in the sunlight

by ntfromhere on 6/16/11Mercury Lounge - New York

I love vetiver's albums a lot, they have a great fresh sound and wonderful lyrics. Their live performance has a much heavier rock sound then the albums, better suited to the dark, beer-scented venue of the Mercury Lounge than their recorded versions that evoke a sunny day at the beach. Sadly, the air conditioning at the Mercury Lounge was not working, which made for a hot and stuffy experience, but the music was great.
