About

About Vanderbilt Commodores Men's Basketball

Vanderbilt has managed to put together a solid basketball legacy over the last century. The Commodores have been a regular presence in the NCAA Tournament, qualifying 15 times, including six Sweet 16s and one Elite Eight back in 1965.

Vanderbilt has had even more success in conference play. It has won three SEC regular-season titles (1965, 1974, and 1993), as well as two SEC tournament titles (1951 and 2012). The Commodores also won the NIT in 1990, with the secondary tournament serving as their biggest nationwide achievement.

Plenty of NBA players have gotten their start in Vanderbilt uniforms. The highest-profile names are Will Perdue -- who won four NBA titles in the 1990s, three with the Chicago Bulls and one with the San Antonio Spurs -- and DeMarre Carroll, who has built a solid NBA career with noteworthy stints in Atlanta and Toronto.

Other NBA players from Vanderbilt include Festus Ezeli -- a presence on the dominant Golden State teams of the 2010's -- and John Jenkins, who has bounced around the NBA and overseas in recent years after being drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 2012.

The Commodores are led by head coach Jerry Stackhouse, who led an impressive NBA career himself after being drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers.

WOODEN BLEACHERS! That should be in large bold letters when you are searching for seats in this section. My backside still hurts.

    Memorial Gymnasium is awesome

by R. T. on 1/1/19Vanderbilt Univ Memorial Gymnasium - Nashville

Have seen this venue in tv a few times. Was in Nashville to see the Music City Bowl. Decided to stay an extra day and catch a game. Very unique setup. Very small town feel. You feel like you're in a large high school gym. No bad seats in the building. My only complaint is that on the lower level, near the back, you're covered by the over hang of the second level, so that blocks the PA announcers speakers. Cheap concessions as well. Go see a game here if you're a basketball fan!

    obstructed view

by debmak on 2/27/18Vanderbilt Univ Memorial Gymnasium - Nashville

Be careful where you sit in this gym . Our seat had an obstructed view with a huge concrete structure above and jutting out . I had no idea there was a video scoreboard until we moved further down during the basketball game. These tickets should be sold with the buyer knowing obstructed view

    Basketball Game

by BSGRD on 1/12/18Vanderbilt Univ Memorial Gymnasium - Nashville

Good views of the basketball court. A very unique venue. However, beware if you have sensitive eyes or wear contacts. The fans blow pretty hard in levels 2 and 3.

    UK had trouble

by lgrff777 on 1/13/17Vanderbilt Univ Memorial Gymnasium - Nashville

I was surprised that UK had so much trouble with Vandy. UK is loaded with talent but need to work on their defense. Vandy played a smart game, as they spread the court for the best shot. I was shocked that Vandy had the stamina to keep up with Ky the second . It was a good game.I wasn't sure the cats were gonna pull it out until the last minute.
