    waste of money

by thedevilanthony on 12/6/12del mar - del mar

I bought vip tickets and I wish I did not. the show did not have that many crazy stunts like they advertised all over. the horses were amazing but the acts were pretty repetive and played out. basically same stunts just different riders or horses. the only thing that was nice was for vip it was all you can drink, but san enough not enough alcohol can make this a better show.

Do not waste your money or time

WAY overly priced for a very mediocre show. Nothing compared to a Cirque de Soliel show

    I was disappointed

by GuestMatt on 11/21/12Del Mar Fairgrounds - Del Mar

This was a Sunday afternoon show, but I'll assume it's the same for all shows. If you watch Valitar as seperate individual performances, then it's good. The horses are great, the performers are good and riders do a good job of old time circus rodeo stunt riding, but they all have been put together in a show production that has no logical sense and/or direction. The most impressive part of the whole show was the stage, but I would not have spent $125.00 a seat to just see the arena, in fact I would not spend $75.00 for a front row seat to Valitar.

    Valitar was enjoyable!

by picu on 11/21/12Del Mar Fairgrounds - Del Mar

The Horses were beautiful and very incredilbly trained with now use of force. The female main trainer was truly talented and it was amazing to see some of the results. The cast was talented and seemed to enjoy themselves. A bit costly, and not much available for sales of merchandise to celebrate the occasion.

In general, the acts needed more polishing before being on display. There were many mishaps, some serious and dangerous, as maneuvers failed. Event was overpriced and seats were mostly empty.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it!! The stunt people and the horses were well trained..the music was cool..the whole thing was very entertaining. We highly recommend ths show. Not sure how long it will be here...if it's even is still here..but if it is...I'd recommend it.

    Worst performance ever!!!

by Runnow on 11/20/12Del Mar Fairgrounds - Del Mar

They should be so embarrassed - even if it was free - but it was $150. They had zero talent. They were falling off the horses when they tried a stunt. The horses were not properly trained and it almost seemed abussive. The curtains were blowing and scaring them when it was time to exit so they ran in circles. There was no story - absolutely nothing worth watching. The performers were fat, the costumes were average and they didn't have but one each. A total waste of time and money. There were no programs and no air conditioning.

    Valitar

by Melencita on 11/20/12Del Mar Fairgrounds - Del Mar

My son and I went to see a horse show and were disappointed to see too many people acts instead of horse acts. Probably the best one was the last one with the 9 white horses in the snow scene. And, what $9 dollars for a small glass of beer? $4 for a bottle of water? $45 for a T shirt? After paying such a high price for those tickets???
