V8 Spercars race Sunday May 19th

by Torqbob on 5/21/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Had an absolutely great day! Amazing view of the track & straightaway. Up the Hill to the first turn is probably the MOST exciting of any Track in the world! If you get the chance to go to the F1 race this or any year GO!!!

    some good racing!

by waatpj on 5/21/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

The GT/GS series racing was better than the v8 super cars and I'd already seen them a few months back in the grand am. I did not like the short track - not enough passing opportunity... again, serious lack of racing... Plus, it was hot and there was very little if any shade... definitely don't want to block the view - but, something has to be done shade wise...

    V8 Supercars not so "Super"

by DisappointedFanTwo on 5/21/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

The V* Supercar race was really a dud - need to open the track up for more action. The Pirelli Challenge race was the best one all day

    Excellent event

by CMZAustin on 5/21/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

I've attended every race at COTA so far, and none have disappointed. The track is incredible, and the drivers race hard. Every inch of the property has a great view, and there are large TV monitors everywhere so that you can see action on the other side of the track as well.

First trip to COTA, won't be my last

by slapshot36227 on 5/21/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Formula 1 tickets were outrageously high so this was my first taste of the Circuit of the Americas. I was very impressed with how friendly the staff was and how nicely prepared COTA was for the event. Not to mention the racing was awesome. The hot weather was the only downside to this event but that was expected. I'll definitely be back next year!

V8 races at the Circuit of the Americas

by HappyHungarian on 5/20/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

We love car races. On an oval track you can see the entire race, watch passing and great driving. At the Circuit of the America track you get to see about 1/8th of the track. You have no idea what is happening on the rest of the track. Okay, that is F1 racing and I should have known that part. We purchased “General Admission” tickets to the Saturday V8 race. The map shows “green” areas for general Admission seating. What was not obvious was that you had to walk a long way, cross over two bridges and then sit in the grass. There are no bleachers or vending way out there. If I had known the seats were just grass on a hillside, I would have paid more for bleacher seats. What we could see of the race was fun.

great way to spend the day

by dolemiteOG on 5/20/13Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Visiting the new track for the first time was a great experience and I look forward to going again when there's a motorcycle race. In addition to the thrill of watching, hearing and feeling the cars zip around the track, the accessibility to the vehicles and crew between races was a real treat. There were no lines at concessions or bathrooms. Parking is pricey, I recommend carpooling to distribute parking costs. If you get tickets to the cheap seats like we did, you might want to bring blankets or chairs for the lawn areas, and an umbrella or other shade apparatus.
