The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Tour

The most elite fighters in mixed martial arts do battle against each other in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. In just over 25 years, MMA has grown into one of the most popular of combat sports, and UFC has grown to become the name to know in mixed martial arts. Some of the greatest fighters in history have been associated with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. While the brand has continued to grow worldwide, on pay-per-view, and with the hit reality series The Ultimate Fighter, UFC action is best experienced at the dozens of live events produced each year.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship originally started with a tournament at Denver, Colorado's McNichols Sports Arena on November 12, 1993. It was an exhibition to determine which of a multitude of combat styles were the most effective, including kickboxing, kenpo, shootfighting, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Out of this evolved what is now known as mixed martial arts, where fighters combine several styles in order to knock out their opponents or drive them into submission. UFC entered the world of women's mixed martial arts in 2012 with the signing of Ronda Rousey, and has quickly become the premier organization for women's MMA as well.

UFC sanctions titles in nine weight classes, with women competing in the strawweight, flyweight, bantamweight, and featherweight classes. Men compete in the flyweight classes and beyond as well as lightweight, welterweight, middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight divisions.

Ultimate Fighting Championship bouts are fought using the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts, passed by the New Jersey State Athletic Commission in 2001 and adopted by North America's other governing bodies over the next decade. UFC fights are judged by the "10-point must system," for three to five rounds lasting three minutes each. Fights must end either by submission, knockout, technical knockout, decision, disqualification, forfeit, or in a no contest.

    Good and Bad

by UFC Fan on 4/7/24Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

I absolutely loved the venue and the number of fights on the card. The action was great. The main problem with live UFC fights is the octagon and cameramen. The octagon posts block your view of what's happening but the worst is the cameramen leaning over them. Half the time you can't see what is happening because your view is blocked. The other thing that really was annoying was the frequent shining of spotlights into the crowd. I had to close my eyes, it was like someone shining a flashlight in your eyes.

    Venue Selection

by CK on 4/2/24Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Atlantic City during the “Off-Season” was not only disgusting, but there was nothing to do most of the weekend. That venue was awesome but was not meant for a UFC event. You couldn’t hit a line without waiting to 20-30+ minutes for ANYTHING. It didn’t matter what was going on during the action, I’ve been to a few other events, a few PPVs and those arenas were meant for the UFC. The choice of city and venue given the time of the year was a clear 0/10. Good friends and a night of fights still make for a fun time but woof, swing and a huge miss for the amount of money it costs to go to these events.

    UFC Atlantic City

by BCohen on 4/2/24Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Amazing card and historic venue UFC put on an electric show as per usual. To Boardwalk Hall- it is 2024- PLEASE SET UP WIFI FOR THE VENUE. There is limited if not no service, how is there no WIFI, this needs to be addressed ASAP for a venue in Atlantic City in 2024 where maybe people would like to be on their phones placing bets.

    Great event; insane drink prices!

by Ditty on 4/2/24Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

The event and event space were great! Security and staff were helpful. My only complaint is that the drinks and food were priced insanely high. I know to expect higher prices at concerts and sporting events, but this was on another level. $60-$70 for two drinks is not sustainable for an 8 hour event! Just sayin…

    Everything but the fights

by Gilberto 49 on 4/2/24Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

The show that the fighter gave was very good but the referees was not prepared for such big event and my big concern is that the place around the stadium only had two bathrooms location creating a big line every time you need to use ! Atlantic we can better!

    Probably my last UFC event

by Gabe on 4/2/24Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

Honestly I've sat at many MMA/UFC events the line for the men's room and the quality of the food and drinks. I've come to the conclusion that this sport is just better on TV. I'm a hardcore fan but I don't think its worth the travel time and money to come out for these events anymore. This is coming from someone who has spent money on VIP package and sat on the floor behind the fighters.

    Some deficiencies

by Esteban on 3/20/24Kaseya Center - Miami

Too much alcohol, almost not a single beverage alcohol free. Bathrooms were absolutely full, had to make a line to enter. My seat was supposed to be aligned with the fighters walk out door, and when I got there, it was perfectly opposed. Everything else was outstanding.

    Great seats

    by Mfoxxy13 on 3/13/24Kaseya Center - Miami

This was my first UFC fight & I enjoyed it so much. The energy was amazing & the seats were very good. We had such a good time, I’ll be looking forward to the next fight.

    Amazing fights but aweful seats

by BV on 3/13/24Kaseya Center - Miami

The views from the seats in the upper level were significantly obstructed by lighting equipment. Do NOT purchase any tickets on the upper level at the narrow ends of the arena.

    Legendary fight night

by SirPaul on 3/13/24Kaseya Center - Miami

Im going back to Miami next time the UFC comes to town! This is my 2nd UFC in Miami (287 & 299). The event staff were polite, professional, and helpful. The staff working the alcohol stands were going very fast and efficient. The seating chauffeurs knew exactly where to guild you. Plenty of officers and security to feel safe. The event itself went off without a hitch. Run like a well oiled machine. Every fight was very entertaining and enjoyable. Would highly recommend to any fight fans out there that are unsure of going to see it in person. I’m a fan for life and will be going back until every time until I physically can’t anymore.
