    Very disappointed

by Anonymous on 11/7/12The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

The show feels and is unprofessional and overpriced performance done by people who should not be touching any classics with a 20 feet pole...The story is very far from the beloved classical Ugly Ducking story and instead substituted with characters that were making inappropriate, disgusting noises (fart, burp, etc). Highly unprofessional and totally unacceptable for the Orpheum level. Not fun at all. Throughout the "performance" my son kept telling me "just wait, the REAL story will start in a minute, just wait Mom". It never did...Please do not waste your time and money. If you are expecting to see a beautiful classical masterpiece, this show is not for you and your kids will be disappointed.

Loved the music and feeling of the play. Transitions were smooth and the actors made you feel as if you were inside.

    Great kids play!

by BethMenolly on 8/9/10Park Street Theatre - Columbus

This play is definitely kid friendly. The emperor was hilarious for the kids- they knew he was the bad guy! I loved it but only rated it 4 stars because at times it was difficult for kids to follow but it was definitely aimed for a child audience because it was too cheesy for adults. The songs were catchy and the actors did a surprisingly well job considering their ages. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and my daughter is dying to become an actress now that she saw kids her age putting on a "major" production.
