URBAN WORD NYC GRAND SLAM FINALS Tickets

Urban Word NYC's young poets (13 - 19 years old!) are incredibly inspiring. And this organization does fantastic work. Aja Monet MC'd - and she's an alum of the org which says a lot all by itself. Sophia and Roya (from the staff) were also great. But the poets themselves tell the stories and concerns of today in ways that stick!: gun control, immigration, sexual identification, growing up black in America, living with a dying parent, education system, connection with elders, so much that these youth are thinking about and teaching us bout. Thank you Urban Word NYC!

Incredible experience to witness the raw, unbridled talent of these young kids. Bravo to them all. Their bravery, ability to express themselves in realtime is an honor to watch. The brilliance of their content was moving and significant. This was my second time attending the slam with my teen daughter and we wouldn't miss it!! Keep up the great work !!!!!!

I brought my mentee to this event . We both were impressed to say the least.

The depth of feeling, passion, beauty, and pain presented by these teenagers was inspirational and incredibly powerful. We drove up that day from Maryland just to go to this event and it was worth the trip and the expense of spending the night in NY. We LOVED it. The MC was also fantastic.

Amazing poetry and performances. Amazing kids. Not a show for the faint of heart. They get real.

The teens are full of talent. They spoke so very deeply about the things that they've seen and experienced in life. I would recommend it to everybody. Nothing better than a good poetry slam.

This is truly an amazing evening - the talent of our youth on stage, and the appreciation the youth in the audience have for that talent makes you proud of these teens.

The event was great. The poets were brilliant. The MC was on point. Overall, my teen sister and i loved the event and it was worth the money.

Seeing teenage kids so passionate about the world around them, hearing them articulate the troubles of their hearts, priceless. Praising them and giving them an opportunity to express themselves and to travel is a great program to support.

Oh so hopeful! Our future is in good hands! I wouldn't want to have to compete with the NY team.
