About

Tycho in Concert

Tycho is an audio visual project, band and the alias of graphic artist and musician Scott Hansen, aka ISO50.

As Tycho, Scott Hansen blends swirling melodies into vaguely triumphant arcs that crisscross between stuttering beats and vocal samples, creating rolling sonic landscapes that extend into the horizon. The San Francisco based Hansen began releasing music in the early 2000’s with The Science of Patterns EP. His first full-length, Sunrise Projector, came out in 2004, and the critical acclaim continued in 2006 with the release of Past Is Prologue. In 2011 Hansen’s meticulous process saw the release of Dive, the first record in a trilogy that was followed by Awake in 2014 and the GRAMMY® nominated Epoch in 2016.

Hansen expanded the scope of his project with the addition of vocalist Saint Sinner on 2019’s Weather, Tycho’s second GRAMMY® nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album. That release was quickly followed by its instrumental companion record Simulcast, a collaboration with alt-R&B artist rum.gold and the Weather Remixes project all in 2020. In addition to his original works, Tycho has remixed Odesza & Leon Bridges, Maggie Rogers, Spoon, The Knocks & Muna, Little Dragon, Thievery Corporation and Death Cab For Cutie.

    Return of Tycho

    by SA on 7/16/23

Beautiful sonic landscapes His signature melodies repeating and permutating in each track His band was in excellent synchrony and the visuals beautifully choreographed to each track His new music was surprisingly uptempo and inspiring My only regret is that he skipped “Daydream”

Wonderful & chill without putting you to sleel

    by C. B. on 5/1/22

I saw them when they opened for Interpol. Favorite artist of the night. I didn't realize they'd have live instruments for the performance and was a delight watching everyone play.

    Perfect evening

by J. M. on 6/6/21Blue Note Napa at Charles Krug Winery - St. Helena

The event felt entirely safe and was so enjoyable! Great venue, open lawn next to the vineyard, free parking in open field right at the venue, clean portapotties. Good food in prepackaged containers (we enjoyed shrimp ceviche with homemade chips and a pulled pork sandwich on fresh ciabatta with coleslaw) and great wine. Two person tables distanced. Ordering app at each table was so easy. Music was perfect (love Tycho!!!) and sound was the perfect level, even for us sitting in the front. Staff was excellent. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

    Just incredible

by Rachel on 10/4/19EXPRESS LIVE! - Columbus

I went to see Tycho at Express Live! In Columbus, OH. The venue was immaculate! The parking was an open attached lot, the venue was clean and organized. Tycho was outstanding. They played so many songs and they were pitch perfect! I cant wait to go to another Tycho concert, it was better than i even imagined.

He played a mix of old and new and brought out his vocalist from the new album. She was great.

    Wonderful visuals and instrumentals

    by K. K. on 9/29/19The Pageant - St Louis

The live version of the Weather album songs with vocals are superior to the studio mix. The vocals were more part of the songs rather than dominating them and covering up the amazing instrumentals.

Went in expecting greatness and was blown away!

by Docradi on 9/27/19The Fillmore Detroit presented by Cricket Wireless - Detroit

This was such a fantastic show. I was surprised that even though they are on tour for the new album, they started with old music first and played all my favorite songs. The AV lightshow was great! Loved Saint Sinner as well, she was in top form. Literally one of the best shows I've ever seen. If you have a chance to see these guys, please do so. I guarantee you'll love it!

    So good!

by Alex on 9/27/19EXPRESS LIVE! - Columbus

Tycho has been a favorite of mine for years, and seeing them live was transcendent. They do a great job on stage. Vocals with the new album and singer will take a little getting used to, but I loved it all.

    First time visit

by TheMalcMan on 9/27/19EXPRESS LIVE! - Columbus

We hadn’t been to Express Live before but at similar venues have always opted to buy seats when available. That was the case for this show. However these seats were located where only the front of the stage could be seen. This was ok for Poolside who opened with a great set. When they were setting up for Tycho it was apparent that our seats were useless so along with some others ended up watching the wonderful set standing in the rear of the balcony. So I give 4 stars overall but the venue needs to tell buyers about obstructed view seats.
