TWERPS IN CONCERT:

Twerps make guitar-driven indie rock that's carefree, warm, and an absolute joy to experience live. In concert the Aussie foursome blasts through fan favorites like "Dreamin'" and newer singles like "Back To You", combining jangly guitars, fun harmonies, and cheeky but heartfelt lyricism. Their scrappy, mellow, lo-fi pop has earned them comparisons to Flying Nun, Bats, and Clean, and ticket buyers dig the retro vibe. Frontman Marty Frawley's no-frills vocals and guitarist Jules McFarlane's sparkling riffs come together in dreamlike melodies, making their music the perfect soundtrack for laid-back sunny days and blissful live experiences.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Indie rock collective Twerps was formed in Melbourne in 2008 by guitarists/vocalists Marty Frawley and Jules McFarlane, bassist Rick Milovanovic, and drummer Alex Macfarlane. The group's early gigs quickly earned them a reputation, and soon they were opening for indie darlings like Deerhunter, The Black Lips, and Yo La Tengo. They released the EP Good Advice in 2009 and followed up in 2011 with a self-titled debut album. Propelled by critical success, the band performed showcases at South by Southwest and CMJ Music Marathon, and opened on U.S. tours for Real Estate and Mac DeMarco. In 2014 they penned a deal with Merge Records -- also home to Arcade Fire and Spoon -- and made their debut on the label with the EP Underlay. 2015 is set to be the band's biggest year yet, kicking off with the release of their sophomore album Range Anxiety and continuing with U.S. and Australian tours alongside Belle and Sebastian, The War On Drugs, White Fence, and Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks.
