Turisas Puts on a fabulous show!

by amazinglyemily on 2/5/13Masquerade - Atlanta

I've been waiting quite a while to see Turisas come to America, and I can say for certain that I was not let down. What a great show! Stolen Babies and Firewind were both incredible also. It was an altogether awesome night!

    Turisas finally returned!

    by Amanda1127 on 2/5/13Masquerade - Atlanta

This was one hell of a way to spend Superbowl Sunday! While most of the country was glued to football, I got to rock out with my favorite folk metal artist. Turisas puts on an incredible show. The band was theatrically face-painted and costumed to resemble the adventurers featured in their powerful music. Many image-driven artists seem gimmicky, but not Turisas! While onstage, it's easy to imagine them baring steel against a terrible foe on a Viking ship or charging into battle. I managed to get up to the front of the crowd, so I had a perfect view. The music was flawlessly executed and, as always, I was particularly impressed by the epic violin solos. The crowd was energetic. and those of us who are avid fans were shouting along. The lighting and sound at the venue were excellent. I've been to many shows in "Heaven" on the upper level, but I think the sound quality was better, and the environment more intimate, down in "Hell". The opening acts, Stolen Babies and Firewind, were also impressive. The crown was mercifully small since, I suspect, most people were at home watching football. It was their loss! I think the only downside to the evening was waiting for nearly an hour outside in the cold to enter the venue. If the ticket says the doors open at 7 pm, they should open at 7 pm. Overall, this show was an awesome experience and I hope to see Turisas back in Atlanta very soon!

Stolen Babies and Turisas were great

by AndreyK on 2/5/13Masquerade - Atlanta

This was a great show for only $15. We arrived slighly over an hour doors opened and music was already playing. As a fan of Stolen Babies, I enjoyed their set a lot. Though I was not too into Firewind (not to my taste), Turisas was incredibely energetic and played nonstop - definitely recommend going for fans of metal.

The opening bands were not my style but they weren't too bad. Turisas was everything I wanted and expected. I would go see them again. Hunting Pirates is my favorite song. They also played Miklagard Overture which was incredible.

    I was left speechless!

by BrutalBallsack on 4/9/12BLONDIES - Detroit

Amazing show. All the bands sounded spot on, and the volume wasn't blasted like at other shows I've been too, so I managed to walk away from the show without my ears nearly bleeding.
