TRIXIE WHITLEY IN CONCERT:

Soulful songstress Trixie Whitley continues to captivate audiences everywhere with her vocal prowess, powerful lyrics, and dynamite live performances. Whether she’s delicately playing the piano while soaring on “Breathe You In My Dreams” or sweetly singing and strumming an acoustic guitar on “Morelia”, Whitley possesses an impressive vocal range that keeps crowds mesmerized all night. A gracious and passoinate performer, Whitley wows ticket buyers with her sultry serenading and soul-meets-jazz sound every time she takes the stage.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Belgium and raised in New York, Trixie Whitley was exposed to music and arts at a young age – her singer-songwriter father exposed her to a wide variety of genres when she was growing up. She learned the drums at ten years old, dabbled in singing and dancing soon after while on tour with Les Ballets C de la B, and even started to DJ throughout Europe and the US in her teens. Performing at local clubs and venues in New York’s underground scene, Whitley became known within the community and was invited to play in the group Black Dub in 2008. She toured with the band for three years while working on her solo material on the side. After the release of her 2013 breakout debut Fourth Corner, Whitley was praised by fans and critics alike for her strong vocal presence and impressive songwriting. Since then she’s toured throughout the US and Europe and played major festivals like Bonnarroo and SXSW, and she continues to grow her devoted fanbase on her thrilling live tours.

If you haven't seen Trixie, you're missing out

Trixie Whitley is the most fascinating artist I've heard in years. Her lyrics, voice and truly unique style is a combination that haunts. And watching her perform live is mesmerizing. She is totally absorbed in what she's doing. You find yourself drawn in and invested in it, too. The small venue made it even more special. It's 4 days later and I'm still thinking about the show.

She even had a notebook full of notes!!!

by Rickdurbuy on 4/15/14Mercury Lounge - New York

It was like wonderful. I especially liked her new old instrument that she, as she said herself, uses to express her .. uhm ... shit. I'm not sure, but it kind of looked like a guitar. Could it really have been a guitar? I truly hope it was a guitar. Shouts go out to the three ADHD people in the back for the quintessential extra layer of background noise. Your presence really contributed to make this evening one of the best first nights in NY I have ever experienced.

    Awesome

Great show. Trixie just has the most amazing voice. To borrow a line from BB King, "way too much soul for someone that young." Much success and bigger venues in this talented lady's future.
