About

Born Travis Lazarus McCoy in Geneva, NY, rapper Travie McCoy first made a name for himself as the lead vocalist of the alternative rap group Gym Class Heroes. Outside of the band, McCoy is an accomplished rapper in his own right, having won the MTV Direct Effect MC Battle as well as having guest spots on tracks by Kelly Rowland and Tyga. After releasing four albums with Gym Class Heroes, McCoy began work on a solo record. In 2010, he released his first album without his band, Lazarus, on Fueled by Ramen. ~ Gregory Heaney, Rovi

    Enjoyed!

Where the place was located was a little sketchy, but once inside the place was nice. The restrooms were clean (which was a priority for me). The theater was cool and had a decent stage for the small crowed that was there. All in all, it was a great place, and the show was really cool.

Travie McCoy at El Rey was very nice and amazingly fun. He was very interactive with the audience and played great songs. He shared his attention with all of the audience.

I knew Black Cards was going to be incredible, but the other three opening bands exceeded my expectations as well. Met some of the band members in between sets, and they were really nice. Venue was surprisingly large enough. Travie was great live, and my only regret was that I couldn't attend the after party since it was a weekday.

actually enjoyed The Black Cards, reminded me of a young no doubt, BeBe has a beautiful voice! Donnis was a southern pimp! Yup Yup! Travie McCoy is a true performer. Had a chance to catch this show in lawrence, KS and was surprised it was not overly packed. Felt kinda old, I'm 30 and saw alot of Xs on hands, (under 21)Enjoyed the hell out of the show. Had a kick ass time and appreciate Travie still doin his thing!

Awesome concert in a nice intimate venue. Travie rocked the house even though he was sick and pumped up the crowd the whole time. Definitely can't wait for him to come back around doing his Gym Class Heroes stuff! Well worth seeing.
