About

TOTAL SLAUGHTER CONCERT:

Rap battles have been a fixture of underground hip-hop culture for nearly 40 years, but in 2014 they'll hit prime time thanks to Eminem's latest project Total Slaughter. A co-production of Shady Films, Slaugtherhouse, and WatchLOUD.com, the one-night-only event brings the genre's fiercest battlers together under one roof for a definitive showdown that pits champion against champion. Featuring battle legends like Loaded Lux and Murda Mook alongside tenderfoot talents like Budden and Royce, Total Slaughter is sure to be a night of epic flow, unexpected surprises, and more than a few figurative casualties as freestyle's new king is crowned.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Total Slaughter is the brainchild of Eminem, who first gave audiences a sneak peek into the world of underground rap battles in his 2002 blockbuster film 8 Mile. Whereas the battle scenes in the film take place in an abandoned warehouse, 2014's Total Slaughter provides a wider arena, giving its contestants their biggest platform yet in the form of the Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom. Boasting names like Loaded Lux, Hollow Da Don, and Crooked I, Total Slaughter will treat ticket buyers to a night of unforgettable rap battling it has dubbed "the next great American sports league."

    Awesome time

I had a really fun night. It was a great place to chill. Also said what's up to a few of the battlers and they're all really appreciative of the fans. I'll def be going to the next total slaughter card, and some smack and UW events too.

    Total Slaughter was EPIC!!!!

by Mz7ontaine on 7/20/14Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Event was dope!!! Perfect environment, mics and sound were an issue... Seating and ticket options could have been explained better... I feel I paid more for seats that weren't that good. Mook and hollow were monsters and they made the event worth every penny!

Total Slaughter Was Dope And For Them Putting Together A Battle Event For The First Time It Was Pretty Good. It Did Have A Few Kinks The Way That Last Battle Was Judged Was Kind Of ODD And The Uncontrollable Booing. Great For The Culture Tho. I'll Definitely Be Attending Total Slaughter 2.

The sound was terrible. We left 30 minutes into it due to not being able to hear them. Daylyte ruined the whole thing by not taking it seriously. It was all stupid.

    Worst event

by JonRogerson on 7/15/14Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Poor production. Horrible lighting and sound. This was a hip hop rap battle and they didn't even have mic's working. One of the rappers came on stage and when it was his time to perform he wasn't even mic'd up. They started arguing with production on stage.

    Eminem didn't present anything!

by Sfanik91 on 7/15/14Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

I went to an event called "EMINEM present Total Slaughter" and read articles describing this event where Eminem would be the host, and slaughterhouse would be performing. Neither of the above described happened. The best part was seeing Joe Budden in a rap battle, but he didn't even perform well.
