This show was a big disappointment not only for my 2 1/2 year old that loves the show religiously but for my self as a parent! We spent quite a bit of money on tickets to go to the show and 10 minutes in my son was asking to leave, he loved the stuffed animals we bought him and that was about it. The show was an hr long and not very entertaining or eventful, the stage seemed bare and their was no real special effects or flashy lights! I asked a few other moms that went with there kids and they gave the same thoughts and reviews. We looked forward to this event for moths and were thoroughly let down! Unless you want to see a few guy in fuzzy animal suits shuffle there feet side to side and call it a show I'd save your money and time.

Toopy & Binou Provide Smiles For Kids

by katopotato on 9/24/12Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I read dozens of reviews before I went to see the show. We went with my daughter & her 2 friends (all girls aged 4-6). IT IS WHAT IT IS. A highly-recommended stage musical for children based on the TV Show. I completely disagree with some of the terrible reviews I read. Yes, if you were grading the show as an adult, it doesn't compare to great theatre, as it lacks storyline & continuity. It likely won't hold your attention too long as a grown-up. Was it the best show I have ever been too? Of course not, but it isn't really my review that you want. The bottom line is, if I were writing this review for my 4 1/2 year old daughter, I would give it 5 Stars for sure. It is her opinion that truly matters. She was giddy & looking forward to it for three days before we went, she was excited driving to the event & then loved seeing all the kids running around when we got there. The show captivated her & she enjoyed all of the individual characters on stage. In the few days since the event, she hasn't stopped talking about it & she has been sleeping with the Toopy & Binou stuffed toys that we purchased before the show started. Her positive experience was worth every penny we spent. When I looked around the theatre at the finale of the show, I looked around and saw smiles on all the faces of the children as they clapped. That is the reason I would recommend this show & the reason I will continue to take my children to similar events.

    Kids loved it

by Kryssy28 on 9/24/12Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The performance itself was awesome just wished we had better seats. We were up on the second balcony and was hard to hear what they were saying. And just seemed too far away. My seven year old watched the whole time but my two year old was easily distracted I think from the noise of other kids and the performers being so far

Toopy and Binoo and the Marshmallow moon

by Marty1981 on 10/18/11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

It was a great show. Both my daughter and I loved it. My only complain would be that I found the time inconvenient... and thought the 20min* en-track* wasn't necessary even though I understand that they wanted to change the decor, this show was for children under the age of 5. It would have been better either earlier (10am) or later (3pm), this way, the kids can nap and are in a much better mood then having the show at 1pm.

    Toopy and Binoo uninteresting!

by 2regretfulmoms on 9/28/11Sony Centre for the Performing Arts - Toronto

My friend and I brought our kids to the show and really regretted it by half way. There was absolutely nothing familiar from the cartoon that would keep the kids interested and excited. The wanted to leave by half way. The only thing they may have enjoyed was the very beginning when the Toopy and Binoo song. I found later from neighbour, who also attended the show, that many kids wanted to leave in her seating area as well. I would definitley not reccomend this to anyone and tell them to just save their money.

Very lovely show, nicely done... beautiful scenes. My 3 yr old girl loved it! but she loves Toopy and Binoo doesn't matter where they are! I've never seen her so excited before! She kept clapping her hands and calling Toopy and Binoo's names... I'm glad we went to see those cartoon characters.

Toopy & Binoo - Not so clever

by WinnipegDad on 2/2/11Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

The kids seemed to like it about average overall but they were bored at times. Not too much exciting happening. Nothing very clever about it. Reminded me of Barney with alot of cheezy songs and not witty or clever like the TV show can be. Disappointed overall. Intermission too long as well (20 min +) with kids quite restless.
