About

TOAD THE WET SPROCKET IN CONCERT:

In 2013
beloved alt-rockers Toad the Wet Sprocket released their first album of new material in more than 15 years, and proved they've lost none of their energy or melodic sense with a series of electrifying shows. Frontman Glen Phillips and his bandmates can nail a harmony with the best of them, and they're musicianship really shines on cuts from the new album like "The Moment". While the band is excited about the new release, fans of their earlier work have nothing to worry about -- Toad the Wet Sprocket's sets consistently top the two hour mark, and their upcoming dates with Counting Crows will feature all their classic hits including "All I Want" and "Good Intentions".

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Toad the Wet Sprocket was formed in 1986 by a group of high school friends in Santa Barbara, CA. The band achieved modest success on college radio with early albums like Bread & Circus (1989) and Pale (1990), but it wasn't until the 1991 release of their third album Fear that they really broke through to the mainstream. Top 20 singles "All I Want" and "Walk on the Ocean" propelled the album to platinum sales, paving the way for extensive touring throughout the US and Europe. Their follow-up album Dulcinea in 1994 was a similar success, scoring the band their first chart-topper with "Fall Down". After breaking up in 1998 the band reassembled periodically over the years to play shows, and in 2009 they reunited full-time to begin work on a new album. The result was 2013's New Constellation, a critical and commercial success that marked their return to the charts and set the stage for continued touring.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Toad the Wet Sprocket sound as good now, or better than they ever did. Great show with audience interaction - fantastic harmonizing - GO SEE THEM!"

"They sounded great and seemed happy and enthusiastic to be playing together again. The playlist included all the old greats and several from their latest release, which sounded even better live."

"Great show! The band played a mix of songs from the old stuff and new album. Kicked it off with "The Moment", best song from the new album. Fans sang along the whole way through."

    Best show ever!!

by Becky on 12/6/23The Sound - Del Mar

I saw Toad the Wet Sprocket when I was 13 years old, and almost 30 years later, I got to see them again. They BLEW me away!!! I had been to two other shows from my youth in the last year which were extremely disappointing (one lead singer showed up drunk and obviously didn't want to be there, and the other displayed his gigantic ego by playing the music way too loud, not recognizing his band, and using his concert to spread his own political agenda). Toad the Wet Sprocket renewed my faith in live music again! Every band member showed up 100%, sober and obviously wanting to be there. They had great energy, and Glen Philips, the lead singer, gave each and every band member a chance to shine. I will absolutely be attending every one of their shows that comes through town from here on out.

    Great Band, Great Show

by Dave on 10/16/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Awesome show from an old favorite. They sounded great and kept the audience on their feet and singing along. Can't wait to see them next time they are in town.

    Toad is always outstanding!

by Indydago on 10/16/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The band never fails. They should be in a better venue but the Egyptian Room wasn’t too bad for a flat floor room.

The concert itself was amazing.... however the venue had us so packed together that people were practically sitting on each other....

    Throwback to the 90s

by swoody on 10/15/23Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The Verve Pipe opened and a great show with energy, and their T-shirts for sale looked just like the ones you would see in the 70s. The Sprockets played hits spanning their catalog, but you know the crowd is getting old when the only time they stood up is when the band told them to.

This is the 3rd time I've seen Toad the Wet Sprocket in Louisville KY and they have never disappointed. Their haunting melodies and heartfelt lyrics are what has kept me a fan for 30 years. I just love them and hope they come back soon.

    Opener was better

by Easyrunning on 10/14/23The Louisville Palace - Louisville

The Verve Pipe gave a much better performance than Toad the wet sprocket did. I did enjoy the show but it wasn’t as good as I hoped.
