A+++ Not To Be Missed Performance!!

by SuzeRuns on 7/21/12Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Any expectations were vastly exceeded as I simultaneously lived in the present and the past through the most immersive process I have ever experienced. This truly brings entertainment to an entirely new level. Each individual was a talented and charismatic performer and the chemistry they exhibited as a team was magical. Their authentic live performance combined with the video clips, presentation of period facts, and actual TV ads took me back in time, so I was able to remember where I was and what was happening during the period I was old enough to recall. It was like getting a live history lesson, with information from the 60's being presented with the defining perspective that time brings. My husband and I will definitely go back for a repeat performance at another venue so we can take in more of the treasures that are offered. We feel we got way more than our money's worth. The value in being able to reconnect with our own individual lives while being entertained was something we had never experienced before. Being present for this debut was beyond groovy!! Kudos to everyone involved!

i would strongly recommend this show to anyone with even a passing interest in music! The show was phenomenal Top notch performances by all. Especially impressive were Joan and Daryn.. Joan's vocals blew everyone away! Standing O's all around. Daryn is quite the vocalist himself. You will learn alot from this multimedia event. I wish I could see it again. It was a wonderful recap for the decade. Well thought out and superbly executed! A show of shows!

This Is The 60's show IS INCREDIBLE!

by Doctordo on 7/17/12Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

This show is an excellent production and probably far better than most people would ever imagine. Everyone gave a standing ovation together that lasted halfway into the first encore song - INCREDIBLE. You definitely get your money's worth and leave the show wanting more. The visual images and video projected on the 3 large screens were so cool - huge kudos to the designer. I especially loved the fire background during Jimi Hendrix's Fire song. The dancers and choreography were great and a nice bonus. The show's old video footage and funny commercials were great and the show's trivia projected on the curtains before the show start, during set changes and intermission gave non-stop education and entertainment. The musicians were so versatile and obviously they are all top professionals. The female singer is a star with a beautifully powerful voice - she gave me goose bumps.

This show brings it to life!

by FOURHALLS on 7/16/12Ovens - Charlotte

I was bone in the 60's so I do not remember the development of Rock and Roll. But I do remember the music as I grew up. So this show brought it all to life and was really well done. It was not cheesy, it was very well done. The video's were fun and informative and the music was awesome! I would recommend going. I even took my 15 and 12 year old and they liked it and thought it was very interesting

This Is The 60's is a FANTASTIC event!!!!

by Tracrob on 7/16/12Ovens Auditiorium - Charlotte

Attended the debut of This Is The 60's. We were entertained from start to finish...even before the show began with the screen trivia, then we were blown away by the show itself, all the way to the encore. The concept of this show and the presentation were absolutely perfect. The band was exceptional, vocals were spot on and the period costumes were great. I looked around the auditorium a couple of times to guage the audience's reaction....every head was bobbing to the music and most people were singing along. I don't think you can get a better indication of just how great this show is than seeing every audience member engaged. Bravo and I hope that you have great success with this show....and we cannot wait until This Is The 70's and This Is The 80's!!!!!

    17 Again

    by 1960Buff on 7/15/12Oven's Auditorium - Charlotte

The music and harmonies that the production presented was phenomenal and would have been totally enough but to put it way, way, way over the top was the films between the sets and of course during the tunes. Add in some beautifully choreographed dancing by two beautiful dancers and the night was worth every single penny! This Is The 60s not only took me back to my teen years almost immediately but literally brought me to tears on songs like Abraham, Martin & John and footage of the Kennedy assassination. I found myself visualizing Janice Joplin and The Who when the band played some of their songs. I only wished they had played one more night so I could bring some of my friends - they would have been stunned!
