    Wooden Legacy classic

    by UBee1 on 11/30/16Honda Center - Anaheim

This event provides amazing up-close access to major college basketball. All seats were down low. The first two games were at a small college gym. General admission and no seat numbers. Total of 8 rows, so even the top row was close in. The final event was at Honda Center. There were at least 80% empty seats. One rub is the need to by session tickets. Most of the fans just wanted to watch their team, or maybe a few minutes of the game prior. Thus the arena is much much emptier than the TM site makes it out to be. For example, there were 16 seats in my row, and I thought I bought the last one. Turns out there was one other fan in my row, and it stayed that way.

    Where is everybody?

by Anonymous on 11/30/16Honda Center - Anaheim

Went to championship Sunday at the Honda Center. Four good games but the attendance was sad. John Wooden would not have been happy.

    mixed feelings on the event

by hooplover on 11/30/16Honda Center - Anaheim

Overall enjoyed watching our Flyers and other games. Was disappointed in the Titan Gym setting---very limited food and drink options( no beer not the end of the world but still a surprise for one of these events) with no close restaurants made it hard spending all day at games. Honda center nice arena with plenty of good seating--better food and drink options but all seemed a bit overpriced. Because lots of good seating, I would suggest not putting fans of other team in the rows immediately behind team benches--we were amazed security allowed some overzealous UCLA fans in first row behind Texas A&M bench and continually harass the players and staff. Also would suggest figuring out a schedule that does not have the 7th place game after the championship game---made for bad situation for the teams having a nearly empty arena.

Great opportunity to see UCLA in the OC

by DbarRay on 11/30/16Honda Center - Anaheim

It was kind of sad to see a tournament named the "Wooden Legacy" have such a poor turnout. And even for the final, the attendance was pretty poor. Far less than half the Anaheim Arena was sold. I would say attendance would be better if tickets weren't so expensive - $50 for the cheap seats, $170 for courtside seats - Understandable if the players are making millions, but these are college kids. On the other hand, it was a good opportunity to see UCLA without having to drive out to Pauley Pavilion.

    Suggestion for Wooden Legacy

    by polkadots99 on 12/7/15Honda Center - Anaheim

Games at Cal State Fullerton gym great. Loved being so close to the action. Not so much at Honda Center. Either have the final games at CSUF too or rearrange the order and have the 3rd place and championship game together in the evening to bring in a larger crowd. Half of the arena was empty all day.

    Wooden Legacy

    by Roundhill71 on 12/4/13Honda Center - Anaheim

The games were competitive and the caliber of teams were in the second quartile (not top 25 but close to top 25 with the prospect of getting much better during the year). Good college basketball that was unfortunately not well attended. Shameful to have an event named after the greatest coach of all time so lightly attended. The event organizers should think about reducing ticket prices and/or featuring UCLA and adding some other local colleges in the event every year.

Games not played in order listed. No program to identify players. Seats not as shown on map. Not an end seat.
