Travelled from Florida to see this event, and was not disappointed. It's a great feeling to walk away from a concert feeling high on life. Great music, amazing voices and the musicians are second to none. Check out Whiskey Gentry every opportunity you get! Merry Christmas Y'all
The energy, skill and musical talent exhibited by Blair and his fellow musicians was, in my opinion, excellent. There was no break in the flow, the music was not interrupted by lots of "stories". The whole set was executed with a passion that electrified the venue. Speaking of the venue cudos to all the staff and security who made the audience welcome and feel safe. I look forward to seeing this band again.
The first group that was playing that evening was very good. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the group. They have great female vocalist and violin player. The other musicians were very good as well. There songs repertoire was lovely. They started sharply at 8 PM, and played for one hour. Then, it was 15 -20 minutes intermission. The second musician group was very loud. Too loud for the venue area.They played rock. We could not stand it because of our eyars were hhurting. Unfortunately the venue did not allowed re-entrance, if you are going outside of the building. So, we left for it was too hard to be in the venue of loud rock music. We have not enjoyed The Whiskey Gentry for they supposed to perform last. As the result, we spent our money for part of the concert. We have not seen the main gig, and waisted our time driving to the venue. Bad policy about no re-entrance.
I go to The Whiskey Gentry's Merry Y'all Tide Christmas show every year. They're such a talented group of musicians. I have two children (5 & 11) and they love going to see them whenever they can. Everyone needs to check them out! :)
The variety show was a good mix of Christmas songs and songs off their albums. The band before the main act was also excellent! The drinks at the play house were the cheapest I've seen beverages out in a long time. The standing room and seated play house was very accommodating. The crowd was excited, the music wonderful and the libations well priced. I call this a winning combo! The ticket prices weren't bad either.
Brian Crimmins and the Hookers performed first half of the show, They are immensely talented, professional, all thumbs up. We really enjoyed it. We had to leave at the end of their part, but were very much excited about Brian Crimmins and what to see them again. Surprisingly the show was titled Whiskey Gentry and there was a WG poster above Brian Crimmins band....They were not advertised at all, they were advertised as Whiskey Gentry show. Come on guys, give Brian credit. At least should hang their poster on the stage when they play...
Good low down country New Orleans feel fun! Great venue. Not too crowded, could sit if you wanted or be in front dancing if you preferred.
I love WG so much, I invited all of my best friends to come to this show to celebrate my birthday! They are always such a great time, I can't get enough of them! :)
What a fabulous show!! I purchased their new CD that evening as it was their CD release concert! I recommend going to see them live and purchasing their CD!
They absolutely brought the house down! What a talented bunch of musicians - and with the golden pipes of their lead singer, these guys are going to go far.
