With their lightning quick wit and willingness to embrace the unexpected, live improv troupe the Tenderloins have mastered the art of turning awkward moments into comic gold. At their uproarious live shows, The Tenderloins flex their standup muscles, treat fans to a hilarious version of their backstory, and air the naughty bits they weren't allowed to show on their hit TV show Impractical Jokers. The foursome had crowds rolling on the floor with their slapstick sketches and agile improv skills at their 2013 shows, and the 2014 TruTV Impractical Jokers Tour is sure to be no different.
Formed in 1999, the four members of the Tenderloins performed long-form improv in comedy clubs around the country before turning to internet video as a vehicle for their sketches in the mid '00s. After their video "Time Thugs" won $100,000 on NBC's It's Your Show competition in 2007, the group began talks with several television networks about launching their own improv TV show. The result, TruTV's Impractical Jokers, premiered to critical acclaim in 2011, drawing comparisons to likeminded reality shows Candid Camera and Jackass. With a third season in the works, Joe, James, Brian, and Sal — as they're affectionately known by fans — are back on the road in 2014, treating audiences to unseen footage from the show alongside brand new sketches of their deliciously awkward comedy.
