    Very disappointing

by Anonymous on 4/17/18Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza - Thousand Oaks

Not worth the 2 hours. Singers had OK voices but their the stage presents was disappointing... most couldn't dance and transition from one scene to the other was jerky and disconnected. Could have used some background video scenes/slides to set the mode. Conversations between songs was not a smooth transition. Some costumes where OK.., they tried, male host wasn't dress in uniform (needs correct belt and buckle), in his opening act his tuxedo pants were way too small (looked like he used his younger bros suit; one female singer's belt wasn't fitted properly. A lot of former military folks in the audience... they would notice. Another female singer had a nice voice but wasn't cast properly... she was too heavy set for the army period and couldn't dance. Nice evening gowns for the females in the one act. Produced/director should think about the importance of details to make the acts work... show's quality wasn't up to high school level... but keep trying until you get it right. Saw a group a few years ago with the same "Swing Dolls" name and they weer outstanding.

    Swing Dolls

by Anonymous on 2/24/15Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

Loved the music from the various decades. Some staging, set design and attention to lighting would have improved the experience. One of the trio was considerably older than the other two and her voice showed it. Nevertheless, the songs were great.

    An Evening of Entertainment!

by SingingDunn on 3/21/14Scherr Forum Theatre - Thousand Oaks

I thoroughly enjoyed the show! The Swing Dolls are fun, cute, and very talented! Their voices and harmonies were so on point and their song choices were great. It seemed like everyone around me was having a great time and a lot of the audience was even singing along! Also, the MC of the show was a professional juggler and did a fantastic job entertaining the audience between acts. Overall, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.

    PASS

by Antame on 2/19/14Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

I took my 81 y/o Mom to listen to music from HER days! Almost left after the first act. Corny as heck. I looked around and saw MANY people sleeping. Second act was better, more entertaining. Poor organization. They start with the 50's, then do 60's and 70's (verrrry bad disco) and then go back to the 40's for the second act only. The choreography was seriously laughable. Good voices. But, no way would I recommend anyone spend $50+. If I could, I would ask for my money back.

The Swing Dolls' costumes were fun and took me back in time. Their vocal performance were wonderful. I most appreciated their tribute to our Military Service Men and Women! God Bless America! ! !

Swing Dolls and a Great Commedian

by papabear508 on 2/14/11Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

This show was a great event. Good voices and good music. Since I was in the front row I got 'picked' on by the comic who was excellant. Had good conversations with him and the girls after the show! I'd go again if I get the chance.
