Very disappointing
by Anonymous on 4/17/18Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza - Thousand OaksNot worth the 2 hours. Singers had OK voices but their the stage presents was disappointing... most couldn't dance and transition from one scene to the other was jerky and disconnected. Could have used some background video scenes/slides to set the mode. Conversations between songs was not a smooth transition. Some costumes where OK.., they tried, male host wasn't dress in uniform (needs correct belt and buckle), in his opening act his tuxedo pants were way too small (looked like he used his younger bros suit; one female singer's belt wasn't fitted properly. A lot of former military folks in the audience... they would notice. Another female singer had a nice voice but wasn't cast properly... she was too heavy set for the army period and couldn't dance. Nice evening gowns for the females in the one act. Produced/director should think about the importance of details to make the acts work... show's quality wasn't up to high school level... but keep trying until you get it right. Saw a group a few years ago with the same "Swing Dolls" name and they weer outstanding.
