this venue offers probably the worst sound experience at the shore - music, voices all a garbled mess. Even the musicians couldn't hear themselves. still, the place remains a legend with plenty of atmosphere along with outdoor seating from which which you can enjoy the night scenery of Asbury Park along with the cacophony. Oh yeah, decent bathroom.
and I have been listening to them for 30 years. The show at BB King's was much tighter than their other shows. Nothing but good song selection and great music.
The band is top notch. The singer sings off key. But Jim sing off key sometimes as well. They played many seldom heard doors songs which I liked. Overall, a good experience.
WHAT A TERRIFIC SHOW, THEY DO JIM & THE DOORS PROUD AND THERE IS NO WHERE ELSE I'D RATHER BE REMEMBERING JIM & CELEBRATING HIS MUSIC THAN SPENDING A COUPLE OF HOURS SINGING & DANCING WITH THE SOFT PARADE!!
Loved The Doors. Some of the songs were good. Guitarists and drummer were great. Lead singer voice was good, but left without hearing any of my favorite songs not even the most famous hits. Lead singer repeatedly left stage and didn't return for extended periods. Seemed drunk and not really interested - the real Jim Morrison experience? At end didn't seem interested in what audience wanted and first concert I've ever been to that band didn't come back for an encore. Got the feeling that the encore was behind the curtain. Extremely disappointed. Glad I subsequently found out that some tribute bands are actually great. Would never go to see them again. At times just plain too loud to even understand what you were hearing.
My husband loves the Doors so I got these tix for his birthday...the lead singer was like a fat (sorry..) old, drunk Jim Morrison..he lept turning around and taking a swig of his drink. I know rockers do this but his whole demeanor was so poor!! Never moved around on stage...just lame! Several people around us walked out. We stayed out of respect and comedic wonder if he was going to fall over...Instrumentally they were pretty decent. But never agin. Thank goodness the tix wre only $45....
LEFT THE SHOW AT INTERMISSION. SINGER WAS TERRIBLE..GUITAR PLAYER WAS AVERAGE. KEYBOARD PLAYER AND DRUMMER WERE BETTER. BAND SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO THINK ABOUT REPLACING SINGER
The musicians were decent. You could tell what they were playing. The lead singer was absolutely horrible. No stage presence what so ever. The worst show I ever went to. The group took a very long break, we left after waiting at least 20 minutes. Wasn't worth waiting or staying for! Definitely not worth the price we paid. Very, very disappointed
started slow, picked up with some of the driving beat then faded.did not play L.A.Woman. overall disappointing
