About

The Smartest Man in the World is the hit podcast from comedian and actor Greg Proops. Part professorial, part crazed comedian, Proops forms the show around his talent and passions. The show flows like a love letter to tangents. Greg Proops is one of the best improvisers and compliments those skills on the show with an affable approach and an impressive knowledge of the important and the mundane. So sit back and prepare to be educated and entertained by... the Smartest Man in the World!

    Waste of time

I thought I was attending a stand up comedian show. It was one man's experience on life and politics. He was not funny, not what I paid for

Greg knocks it out of the park every time!

The Smartest Man in the World podcast is one of the ONLY things that helps mitigate the overall horror of this current administration. Greg is erudite, sharp, nimble-minded, and flat out hilarious. I never miss a chance to see him when he's in the area!

Greg Proops live podcast is a really laid back, informational show and so funny and clever. The Punchline is an intimate setting for a great comedy atmosphere!

    Use better description

by Proopsfan on 8/3/14Punch Line Comedy Club - San Francisco - San Francisco

I am a devoted Greg Proops fan...still. 3 problems with this show: 1. although I agree with the positions in the political have/have nots rant, it was neither comedy nor funny -- $32 is a lot of money for a political speech when I thought I was paying for comedy. This topic makes me sad all the time so to pay to have it make me even more sad was a drag. 2. Description of show online could have done a much better job describing the difference between the podcast show and the regular standup -- I thought we were attending just a taped version of the regular show. My bad for not researching further. Your bad for not making it clear. 3. We were seated in the back by the entrance...paid the same amount as everyone else, I presume. Then why did we have to listen to the PunchLine employees talking about whatever...quite loudly and during the show? Bummer. Still a fan of Proops. Will be more careful when going to a future show.

    Proops strikes again!

by JeezyCreezy64 on 2/4/13Punch Line Comedy Club - San Francisco - San Francisco

I've been to many of Greg's podcasts before and suffice it to say I'm already a fan, but he never ceases to amaze me with his cutting wit, ferocious and hilarious attacks on moaners/groaners/hecklers, and redeeming self-deprecation. Never gets old, never gets repetitive, Greg certainly earns his podcast's title "Smartest Man in the World!"
