    outstanding performance

    by eddoc1 on 3/25/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

The Romero Guitar Quartet are entertaining and amazing musicians. I encourage attending a performance when they are in town. We also enjoyed watching and listening to TSO performing Ravel's Bolero. Its not a monotonous piece if you appreciate the gradually building up of the instruments playing the theme.

    Amazing guitars

by Tucsongio on 3/12/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

The TSO performance with the Romero Guitar Quartet was a stunning display of musical excellence. The symphony played pieces from Verdi, Vivaldi and Ravel and they were a treat to listen to. We especially liked Ravel's Bolero. The Romeros displayed an extraordinary command of the classical guitar and it was a treat to listen to them and their music. One of the best symphony performances we have ever attended.

    Superior Orchestra, Great Guitars

by Garrwald on 3/12/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

The program was beautifully put together by the TSO's new music director, Jose Luis Gomez, to present an astonishing range of tones and textures. And his version of Ravel's Bolero was unmatched, in my opinion, in the way he let each instrument speak in its own voice, without a strict formulation so often heard with this piece. Most exciting, though, were the several encores by the Romero Guitar Quartet, including a malaguena that almost got the audience dancing in the aisles.

The Romero's are not to be missed!

by Anonymous on 3/12/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

The Romero's got 3 standing ovations and played 2 amazing encores. They were the featured artists of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and played two selections with them, their skill and expertise in classical guitar is legendary. Three generations that have such talent and enjoy performing together is heartwarming in itself but the music comes from the heart of Spain is not to be missed. What an evening!

    Excellent Christmas show

by Mcfitz on 12/15/12Charline McCombs Empire Theatre - San Antonio

This was an outstanding show with the masters of classical guitar, The Romeros. The Concierto Málaga String Orchestra accompanied them and were fabulous. The program was very popular, including Christmas carols, with nothing too deep. Highly recommended for everyone.

    Disapointing Performance

by LousyGuitarist on 12/7/12Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

This was not at all what we had expected. The orchestra was not very good. Maybe they were suffering from jet lag? Much of the program was simple christmas pieces that really didn't show the Romeros mastery of the guitar. There were a number of times when both the Romeros and the Orchestra played that the guitars were completely drowned out. If they are not going to mike up the guitars, they need to get the orchestra volume under control.
