About

Vector Arena is proud to present the Americana roots blues party that is The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band at The Great South Pacific Tuning Fork, Friday 26th February 2016.

Hailing from Indiana, Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band has always been strong on authenticity, playing music that blends blues, ragtime, folk, country and other traditional styles with the sleek modern energy of do-it-yourself, homespun, punk fueled rock. It’s a mix that’s allowed the band to win fans from all corners of the Americana and rock worlds, and introduce a new generation to blues and American roots music.

Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band bridges genres and eras with an intensity and effortlessness few contemporary artists possess. Their latest and fifth full-length album So Delicious — which includes Breezy Peyton on washboard and supporting vocals and Ben Bussell on drums and supporting vocals elevates the trio’s work to a new level. Produced by Rev. Peyton, So Delicious offers the band’s most diverse collection of songs buoyed by the Rev.’s supercharged six-string virtuosity — a unique style of fingerpicking inspired by his Delta blues heroes, but taken to new, original heights.

Some listeners have a hard time believing all of the Rev.’s extraordinary guitar performances are recorded live with no overdubs — until they see the Big Damn Band in concert. “Pot Roast & Kisses” is a radiant example of his nimble style, weaving two melodies, thumb plucked bass lines and bright decorative filigrees into a graceful, upbeat blend.

With a string of billboard charting albums under their belt and multiple performances at prestigious festivals such as the famed Austin City Limits, Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, WOMAD, Telluride, All Good, King Biscuit, Juke Joint and Riot festivals, Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band are a live act you don’t want to miss.

“When people hear So Delicious and see us play live, I think they understand that what we’re singing about is real to us,” the Rev. says. “We believe in the stories we’re telling and in the way we play. And when we’re on stage or off, there’s nothing fake about us. We are what we do, and I’m proud of that.”

    A helluva show!

by Bwise on 3/24/24Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center (HMAC) Stage on Herr - Harrisburg

Rev, Breezy, and Jacob put in one helluva show. Rev can play any type of string instrument. Breezy played the wash board on fire, literally. Jacob beat those drums to death! The opening act Nat Myers was wonderful. He earned a new fan! I hope they come back to the area again!

    Must See Live

by TomG on 3/19/24Tally Ho Theater - Leesburg

The term "electric"gets thrown around a lot when describing a live performance.....Rev and Breezy (& the BDB) exude energy from the beginning to end of their show! I can't wait to see them again!

    Big Damn Band

by BikerMO on 11/27/23Blueberry Hill Duck Room - St Louis

First time at the venu, small, up close and great sound! The Rev Peyton’s Big Damn Band did not disappoint. Great rocking sound for a 3 piece band. Great guitarist playing classic old school guitars. If you’ve seen them on Utube they are the same in concert. Merch was great looking and low priced compared to other bands. We will go back again to the venu at Blueberry Hill! Tickets were cheap, beer / drinks were cheap, easy access to bar and restrooms.

    Duck room

by Matt erwin on 11/27/23Blueberry Hill Duck Room - St Louis

They are by far the nicest and most interactive group. I love the fact that it's a 3 person band with a 4 person sound. Bones aka sad sam is also very nice guy.

    Crafty skillz

by ZimDog on 4/10/23Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center (HMAC) Stage on Herr - Harrisburg

The theme of the night was intrigue. The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band is considered country blues, but there's so much more to their sound than that. They played covers by Sam Cooke & Robert Johnson; everything else was an original song by the band. Having not seen them in a while, I didn't recognize everything they played, but all of it was interesting to listen to. The proportion of storytelling & antics to straight-up rockin' was appropriate, and the band is a genuine crew of characters, so all of it was entertaining. I'll definitely look for this band to cross my path again.

    Such a great show!

by Selena on 3/7/23Duling Hall - Jackson

I saw the band previously at The Caverns in TN when they opened for The Dead South. They were just as good the second time. These three are true performers! Great music and a lot of dancing fun. A+++

    Great music, great energy!

by Shawk on 11/28/22Blueberry Hill Duck Room - St Louis

This is the third time I’ve seen this band live and they always deliver the goods. Amazingly good music and energy that can’t be beat. I am thankful they keep Saint Louis on their tour rotation. This concert was a bonus in that they played a cover of Run Rudolf Run (Christmas song) and that should be coming out as a single in a couple of weeks.

Always love seeing the Rev but this was one of the best ones I’ve seen yet. Great venue with great upgrades including a gender neutral restroom! Love to see the progress and always love to see the Rev.
