About

To celebrate two decades of 'Give Up' and 'Transatlanticism', The Postal Service & Death Cab for Cutie have joined forces for an unprecedented 20th anniversary co-headline tour. Each night, Benjamin Gibbard, the co-founder of both bands, will pull double duty performing with The Postal Service - comprised of Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello, and Jenny Lewis - as well as with Death Cab for Cutie (alongside Nick Harmer, Dave Depper, Zac Rae, and Jason McGerr). The extraordinary live run will see both iconic groups performing their seminal 2003 albums in full.

Postal Service and DCFQ put on an insane show!

by the bakery one on 11/6/23Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Long time fan of both, the visuals for this show were so rad and the Greek always delivers on sound. I think the DC set could have been a little better (quite a few obscure tracks) but the good ones were there. I would def see this combo again but man the price hurt. I guess we are in our "take advantage of this generations disposable wealth"era.

    Amazing and a classic already

by continuum on 10/26/23Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Death Cab for Cutie and Postal Service... moreso Postal Service, of course, are a classic already that holds up in so many more ways that you would expect. But even Transatlanticism is aging very well and is almost as good. Hearing them both performed live is perfect!

    Wow!

by Ducky on 10/25/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Seeing both bands was a dream unfortunately my partner wasn’t the biggest fan but I don’t care because I enjoyed every second of it! Loved their cover of Enjoy the silence!

    The seats are bad

by Matt on 10/24/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Loved the music but my beefs with the seating. The hard wooden seats are so compact that you a broad shouldered individual such as myself cannot sit comfortably. The setting is cool and it feels like you’re immersed in the woods… but again, doesn’t mean much when my attention is continually being drawn to how I feel like a sardine in a can. For the price of the tickets, i would expect nicer seats akin to even a baseball stadium. I don’t really have an interest in coming back due to the seats. Show was great though.

    Incredible Live Show

by Dan on 10/23/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

The energy that the postal service brings is really amazing. Within one album there are so many different types of songs which is really incredible. I would immediately buy another set of tickets!

    Wow wow wow!

by Anne by the sea on 10/22/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

First time seeing Postal Service in concert and I thought I had missed this opportunity when the group disbanded - then they announced this concert. What's better than a Death Cab for Cutie concert? A double dose of Ben when they teamed up with Postal Service for this Anniversary Tour. Delighted I could be part of the energy at the Hollywood Bowl as the tour wrapped!

    very disappointed

by bradley on 10/20/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

This was a combined Postal Service/Death Cab for Cutie concert. The total time for music, minus break, was less than 1 hr 45 minutes. It's just as well, because I was bored to tears. Death Cab did not play their biggest hits, which was the primary reason I attended. More important is that the dynamic range of emotions within and across songs and across the two bands was zero (not entirely surprising, since the lead singer is the same across the bands). The lyrics were massively repetitive and as uninspired as the emotional tone of the music. The only redeeming aspect of the concert was the light show, which was reasonably creative given then little emotional range to work with from the music.
