Truly spectacular...how a one woman play can be so fabulous. The Pianist was able to unfold her story through powerful drama and excellent piano skills. Entertaining from start to finish!

    Incredible!

I will never forget this one woman show. I only wish I had known about it sooner so I could tell my friends and family to see this show before it comes to a close. I would have paid just to hear her play piano! Fantastic!

    Spellbinding!

by HBernie on 8/28/13Royal George Theatre - Chicago

I was awestruck at this production. What a privilege to hear Mona talk about her parents and play her mother's beautiful piano music. I was moved to tears and the audience was so silent, you could hear a pin drop. It was a beautiful performance and such an important story to tell. Thank you to Royal George, Hershey Felder and of course, Mona Golabek for sharing her family's remarkable story.

An amazing play. Not only is the one woman show true but she is a phenomenal pianist. We loved it, as did everyone I know who has seen it. Too bad it is leaving!

    The Pianist is delightful

This is a wonderfully bright story about a very dark time. Ms. Golebek is truly a skilled and gifted pianist who has taken her Mother's stories and crafted something beautiful. Though not a moving actress, she tells the story adequately and with humility and grace.

TPOWL - Life-giving, music and the human spirit.

by GlenEllynFan on 8/20/13Royal George Theatre - Chicago

True-life and true-to-life. The story of a talented and feisty young girl who escaped Nazi Austria and through her music and will survived and eventually flourished in WW II London - told and played by her daughter, also an accomplished pianist. Honest, unsentimental, fresh - a wonderful fabric of music and history.
