Indie folk group the Paper Kites are winning new fans across the globe with their soaring melodies and dreamy guitar riffs. Hailing from Melbourne, the Paper Kites formed in 2009 by high school friends Sam Bentley and Christina Lacey. After performing locally, the duo expanded their band into a five-piece and began to play festivals. Over the next few years the Paper Kites released three EPs that featured popular tracks like “Bloom” and “Featherstone”, earning the band mainstream media attention for their warm harmonies and strong folk sound. They embarked on several supporting tours alongside Boy & Bear, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Passenger and continued to grow their fanbase around the world. The release of the band’s highly acclaimed 2013 debut LP States brought widespread critical praise and launched a string of sold-out headlining shows around their native Australia.
