I was so happy to have something like this in my area of the state; north-central Mass almost always gets forgotten, with our proximity to Boston and Worcester.
But the Nines was exactly what we needed.
The bands were great, the art was super interesting (and interactive!), and everyone there was so nice.
I only had two things that I think could be done better in the future.
I came from the Devens/Ayer side of the field, not directly from Route 2. There was no signage, and I drove past the field twice before I noticed it, and once I did find the field I was really unsure of where to park until I got to the Rt 2 side of things. However, the free parking was wonderful.
The other thing I think could be improved is the food. It was delicious, but I thought my choices were very limited; I didn't want to buy a whole pizza, and the portions at the Compliments truck were way too small for the price. I did end up buying a pizza and splitting it, and it was wonderful, but it was also $14 and I really wasn't planning on spending that much on a single meal item.
Despite all this, I want this to come back another year. It was great, intimate, and worth the price of admission. Also - Dr. Dog put on a wicked awesome show.
