    The Night The Music Died

by Movinme on 2/6/11Empire Arts Center - Grand Forks

We were in town for a conference and wanted something to do. I checked around and thought this concert might be interesting and of course nostalgic. I am happy that there were seats available and booked for myself and a friend. I was hesitant, as I always am when bringing someone to something I really am unsure of. The first set was good with Buddy & the Big Bopper (stand-in's). It was fun to sing along and just sit back and enjoy the oldies. The strings and sax players were terrific. However, when Roy stepped up....the show was at its best. He was awesome!!! As he sang and when it was time to hit the high notes the way the real Roy could, I would hold my breath, and he DID IT!!!! I could have listened all night. I felt like it was the real deal. Thanks for a great evening! We went back to our hotel and shared with everyone how great it was. We both enjoyed the concernt tremendously!
